Q: Gluskin Sheff (GS)has had a great run and now appears to be giving back a bit of its earlier price increase. Is this a normal retracement? Is there rumour or pending news? Do you see this as a buying opportunity?

Q: Hi Peter,

Correct me if I am wrong, One way to judge a stock is to see the return on equity as the equity holders will receive a dividend after all the debt and prefereed shareholders are paid. NOw gs.to has a return on assets 49% and return on equity 93%. would this company be a great buy.

Does this week's developments (owners selling their shares) alter your opinion of GS as a worthy candidate for one's portfolio? If no, what would you replace it with? If yes, would you back up a small truck and buy more shares?

Q: GS just announced a new issue at $19.00 per share. Why would the company pay out such a hefty dividend and then water down the value of their shares by such a move? Is this new issue being applied against their dividend payout? If so, why disperse such a dividend in the first place?

Q: Hello.
About gluskin sheff paying a special dividend of 1.4 a share.
Does that not mean that the value of the sp should be higher by that amount?Why is it actually going down?
If I buy now,do I get the special dividend,but will the sp drop by that amount after?
