Q: I received this note regarding GE Fair Fund $200 mil. civil money penalties. Is it worth the time to claim my piece and to go through all the required documents for the 800 shares I had? My cost was around $18k and $7k in losses. The shares were held in an RRSP account.
Many Thanks.

Q: I hold all 3 in a non-registered account, and spin-offs from U.S. companies can bring unnecessary complications at tax time (86.1 elections requiring paper tax filing) - I just want to avoid that whenever possible. Given market efficiency theories, the value of the spin-outs 'should' be in the stock close to spin-out time. Given that, does your Bloomberg advise as to when the ex-dividend dates will be for the spin-outs of these 3? Thanks very much....

Q: One of the aspects of GE's businesses that has always appealed to me is the research arm, including additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence and biology/applied physics.

Since the company is going to split into 3 separate entities, do you know which of the new companies will contain the research arm, or will it simply be a component spread across all three?

Thank you.

Q: I have some shares of GE. I've been happy with the performance of the company over the past year. Today they announced a split into three companies. The market seems to take it well... I wanted your thoughts & analysis of the changes and if there is a division of the company you would discard. Thanks as always!

Q: Please suggest a few stocks (CAN, US) that will likely see a rebound in share price when the computer chip shortage is rectified. Either for a trade or 5-year hold.

Q: There will have to be a significant electrical buildout to facilitate a wide based conversion to EV. Everything from Power Production thru both new and upgraded Distribution to Charging Facilities and their components and other electrical elements I haven't thought of will benefit.
Who will be the biggest beneficiaries?
Will there be be clear winners in power production, presumably among renewable energy companies? What about their suppliers?
Will distribution equipment suppliers like GE and Siemens be rejuvenated? Who's best in class in their sector - one of them, Mitsubishi or?
In Electrical Distribution is there any clear leader or is it so decentralized that all the Fortis' and NEE's etc. benefit.
Will ATD.B and its competitors actually see growth in facilities and same store sales etc.
To what extent will energy storage be required and at what stage?

Thank you, Hugh

Q: Hello and Good Morning,
In the recent months, many analysts have become bullish and more confident about the company, and have expressed confidence in the new CEO. The high debt has always been a concern for this company but it appears that the new CEO is taking prudent steps to reduce this and is his priority for the turnaround.
The share price has seen a very good appreciation in the recent weeks. What are your thoughts about this now, in the medium to long term ?
Appreciate your advice.
