Q: I started picking away at these names a week ago and bought half positions in each (I'm always too early!!). I'll probably look to buy the other half in each this week if we get more spikes to the downside. I'm a relatively longer term holder (say next 5-10 years at least). With respect to IHI I usually stick to individual stocks but took a look at the top 10 holdings and decided they were all good companies so just bought the ETF. Do you see any issue holding these names?

Q: Prof Galloway (pivot/section4/etc) talks a lot about unregulated monopolies, are there any companies that you would recommend (outside of the traditional faang names) that might be able to grow into this category? (canada or us)

thanks

Q: In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, there's no question that some of the big US names will experience a direct hit to their bottom line. I am currently considering purchasing Starbucks and Disney shares when shortsighted Mr. Market starts selling off.

Firstly, do you agree that there is an opportunity to be had for capital appreciation in the two companies I mentioned.

Secondly, can you please recommend three or more other US or Canadian companies with a huge presence in China (or Asia) that are directly affected by the pandemic but will most certainly continue to do well in the future given its durable competitive advantage?

Q: Hi guys, I own the following with the respective total portfolio weightings. My TFSA is all CDN and RRSP is a mix of USD/CDN. When I rebalance, should I try and rebalance with respect to % of TFSA and % of RRSP or rebalance each holding as a percent of overall portfolio? If the latter, I would consolidate some of the holdings in my TFSA to bump up the individual weightings. Are there any obvious adjustments that I should make? I’m heavy on AAPL but have sold so much of it over the years I’m very tempted to let the remaining shares ride.
Please deduct as many credits as you see fit and many thanks for the excellent service you provide. The Q/A is invaluable as are the periodic market summaries. You’ve pulled me away from the panic button many, many times.

Q: I was very lucky to have purchased Disney the day before in jumped to $153.
unfortunately it has now returned to almost my purchase price of $138.
with the coronavirus affecting their parks in China and Hong Kong quite extensively, would you suggest selling and hoping to purchase later after the
medical disaster has been eradicated? or is there enough strength in the overall company to just wait and see what happens!

Q: Hello,
I have a full position of Disney in my investement account..I am down about 10% I had bought this for the long term..but I am wondering if I should sell it for a capital loss and perhaps come back later. Or should I wait for results..Can you tell me when they report..I was also thinking that the Coronavirus wouldn't go too well for disney but disney ++ will be good...Thanks.

Q: I recently submitted a question asking what "sector" Costco and Disney were in "according to your sectors". You advised that Disney was Consumer Discretionary and Costco was Consumer Staples.
You do not have these sectors in your listings. You have Consumer Cyclicals and Consumer Non-Cyclicals. I am assuming it is one of these - could you please advise. I am aware that sectors have more than 1 description name but I am trying to keep to the sector names you have on your Summary List.
Thank you so much,
Margaret

Q: I recently asked you for 4-5 core picks for U.S. stocks and you kindly sent them to me that was appreciated. I am trying to keep my stocks organized by sector, which you have also helped me with and wondered what (based on your Sectors) Costco and Disney would be in?
Thank you so much

Q: A first question on this Discovery, which has a fairly stale chart over five years. However, they have some significantly subscribed to channels including Discovery, Animal Planet, TLC and HGTV. With Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Disney vying for space and content, how would you rate DISCK as a takeover target? With a $15B market cap, I know APPL and AMZN could afford it, what about the others?

Thanks.

Q: What would be a good company to buy shares in for a teenager for his first investment? It was mentioned before that it increases interest in investing if the teen knows about the company. I was thinking of Costco, Disney, Mcdonalds?
Would you be able to provide a top 3-4 names in Canada and 3-4 in the US as suggestions? Thanks
