Q: I have been fortunate to come into a windfall of cash from a relative, and I am interested in taking new positions in the following securities with this new cash. Please note, my existing portfolio is fairly well diversified across all sectors in North America.

Can I please get your long-term opinion on these new securities I wish to invest in. Do you see any issues with respect to these investment choices? I have money to invest and feel the urge to plunge into the market at this time.

CSH.UN, MRC, ALA, MPCT.UN, TRP, CVS, LIFE.U, TEVA

Thanks

George

Q: As a new subscriber, I’m thoroughly impressed with your advice and 5i Research services overall - thank you for all that you do.

I currently hold ABBV, BMY, CVS, and GSK in a long-term hold, diversified RRSP portfolio. I’m not necessarily looking to add further healthcare exposure, but am very interested in the long term prospects for MRK +/- ISRG and would appreciate your opinion on them. And compared to my existing companies, would there be a suggested ranking of these six in terms of potential for long term compounding growth?

Q: I need to increase the healthcare allocation in my portfolio. I am considering MDT, DGX,and CVS as, I think, together they provide a good balance of strong fundamentals, yield and some growth. Do you agree, and do you have any other (non-pharma) suggestions.
Many Thanks
John

Q: I have some new funds to add 2 positions. I wish to do so in some USA companies. Even though the US is not your primary focus here, and you are not aware of the make up of my portfolio, can you pls provide your view on which 2 of these 4 names you would consider best and why? Looking for a long term hold, with dividends being less important. Thank you for your very excellent service.
