Q: CTL has just announced a voluntary partial lot purchase or sale program, but at a cost of $3US a share (to a limit of $65US). Why would anyone participate for three or more shares given a $9.95 trading fee at, for example TD? These programs are usually free to a limit.
Q: What do you think of CTL moving forward after recent earnings? Is the dividend reasonably safe?
Q: Any new information on this stock since the last question/answer? Would you consider this a buy at this time and if so what level of risk on a scale of 1 to 10? Do you feel the dividend is fairly safe and if so will the stock price will grow into 10 percent dividend. Is there an active investor involved? Lastly, do you see this stock getting some momentum in the next year or is it a long term play. Please deduct as many credits as you need to.
Thanks

Q: I have some money in an RRSP and I feel that my diversification is broad enough. My preference is in consistent reliable dividends (nearing retirement) and honestly some potential in a market increase. Which of these would you pick? Also, I would like you to give me a better idea about Centurylink. At what stock price level would you consider to be a purchase point? ( or would you stay away period).
Q: What are your thoughts on CTL and the merger going through? Dividend is attractive. What is the payout ratio?
Q: Both CTL and AT&T I believe have extended acquisition closing date deadlines.
Do you have any information and or opinion on the odds for them closing their respective deals?
Thank you!

Q: I hold BCE and T for income, as well as CTL in a retirement income portfolio.
I am thinking of switching either BCE or T for BPY for a similar income because of the much reduced (I think) Capex requirements and likely better growth prospects.
My utility and real estate sector holdings currently are 20% and 23%, respectively, each spread over about 12 companies.
What would your thoughts be?

Q: Could you kindly give me an opinion on Century Link? I currently hold a small amount in CISCO, and I'm wondering if it's worth following for a while, while this all shakes down.
Thank you all for your questions and answers, I have found them very informative.

Q: What do you think of CTL as an income play in a well diversified portfolio, assuming the Level 3 merger goes ahead?
Q: CenturyLink makes up a fairly high % of my portfolio (7%) and as such I try to keep up with it's financial results and the analysts reports. However, it's share price has had a fair dip in the last while. Your thoughts as to what has caused the drop and will it continue to slide. And the current yield is above 7%, is the dividend secure (or as secure as it can be), going forward? thanks!
