Q: Hello Peter,
I know both companies operate in difference space, one ecommerce, other more in payment space. However, can you compare the valuations of both as i am having hard time understanding how shopify continues to defy odds where as Nvei just dips daily even though it produced great numbers. Is it being dragged down by PayPal being in same space. I have a 5 percent position in Nvei. Do you think that is too much for this type of company. I am mostly thinking of a 3 to 5 year hold. Thanks very much

Q: Hi 5i
1. What is your opinion on PYPL earnings and future?

Does this company hold any/much interest to you..why/why not?
With the current drop in share price what would be decent entry point? Would you add to existing position, hold or exit?

2. With reference to a previous question on NUVEI, what would you consider good entry point for this stock given current price drop.

Thx
Jim

Q: I have room for 1 full position in my US RRSP. I do not have exposure to US financials and was looking for your opinion for a relatively diversified US financial with the best prospects for CAGR over the next 3 to 5 years. I came up with Paypal, Square, MS, and JPM. I feel that Paypal (with it recent sell off) is the best option. What is your opinion?

Q: This a follow-up to our TFSA question dated August 24, 2021, and specifically relates to the 5i suggested list of 10 US stocks.

Of the 10, we have so far initiated positions in GRMN, LULU and REGN.

As we already have a substantial position in V (and MA), please suggest an alternative, perhaps in payment services, such SQ, AFRM or PYPL. Also, please suggest an entry point.

For the remainder, NVDA, DG, GOOG, JPM, CRWD and APPS, please rank them in terms of conviction and for each, suggest an entry point.

As always, thanks for the great advice!

Q: Hi 5i,
Back to PINS and PYPL again. Given SNAP’s lower earnings and Apple’s new privacy settings making it more difficult for advertisers on SNAP, would you expect PINS’ upcoming earnings to show a similar problem? If so, would PYPL have signed some form of NDA with PINS so that they would have knowledge of PINS’ upcoming earnings and any Apple privacy impacts?
Thanks again.

Q: Not sure of the rationale for PayPal buying PINS. A $45 billion price tag seems like a lot considering they could of done a partnership instead. A merger that lacks strategic vision is a great way to destroy shareholder value…just ask Time Warner/AOL. Although it is preliminary what are your thoughts? As a long term PayPal shareholder should I sell and buy Square to hold for the next five years? There are no tax or risk considerations just a straight swap to change horses.

Q: Dear 5i
I suspect paypal is declining of late due to the potential PINS deal . Should i continue to hold it or is there reason to sell ?Do you expect it will bounce back ?
Also CROX has been strong the past few years . In an otherwise balanced portfolio would it be a good addition either in a TFSA , cash account or RRSP account ? What growth rates is CROX expecting over the next 2-3 years ?
Thanks

Q: My 28 yo son has $6k USD to invest in his RSP. I have considered many good companies, and whittled it down to 4 choices. I could not find a site to learn the ROIC on these companies. Could 5i provide please? Could 5i rank these 4 based on their growth potential? No requirement to comment on sector allocation within portfolio as that is in hand. Thanks in advance.
