Q: Please comment on the review from a new book from Michio Kaku and how the coming of quantum computing would affect companies in the SOX index such as NVDA. Are there any public or private companies at the forefront of this advance?

"The runaway success of the microchip processor may be reaching its end. Running up against the physical constraints of smaller and smaller sizes, traditional silicon chips are not likely to prove useful in solving humanity's greatest challenges, from climate change, to global starvation, to incurable diseases. But the quantum computer, which harnesses the power and complexity of the atomic realm, already promises to be every bit as revolutionary as the transistor and microchip once were. "

Apparently the auto industry and medical research areas are already using it.

Q: I do believe that our future will be elecrified, though it will take more than a decade to make real progress. Copper will be a key raw material but we will also need motors, batteries and control systems. Renewable power producers will also be needed of course, but I am more interested in the device side rather than the power production side.

If you wanted to start a mini-portfolio of companies that are likely to be key to an electrified world, how would you begin and can you suggest a few companies that will likely be key players?

Q: I have been fortunate to own the above names, some for not as long as I wish I did. When you look at their 10 year charts they are impressive. Can I ask you to list a few more Canadian and perhaps several U.S. stocks that maybe also pay a small dividend but that you consider must own names for long term growth? (I do own BN as well). Thank you as always.

Q: Hi Team,
I own some Cenovus stock. Today's quarterly results were not great, and oil price is sliding along with the share price. I am debating whether I should keep holding this name. I don't really care if I have oil exposure on not, I am ultimately seeking the best long term growth I can achieve regardless of sector. This being said is there any stand out buy's that you would rather own today compared with continuing to hold CVE? I am looking mostly at Canadian names, or US names that CIBC has traded on the neo (Canadian hedged). Or...is this a bad time to sell oil names with the recent weakness in oil price ( if you believe oil price will stage a recovery here shortly). Your suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Shane.

Q: I am interested in investing in companies that are leaders in developing AI. So far I have identified GOOG, MSFT, NVDA, and AMD. Do you agree with this list and are you able to add to it? I have seen AMZN, AAPL, IBM and META with regard to AI, but are they simply users of AI rather than developers?
Thank you.

Q: Hi Peter,
I have over 6 figures to invest for 3 or more years for a Canadian holding company and am looking for suggestions to invest in each of the sectors, in a combination of ETFs and stocks. I would like to be more tax efficient where most of the returns would be in capital gains (total returns are mostly in the growth of the stocks, less in dividends). Investments can be in any geographic areas. In terms of risk level, I am comfortable with your balance portfolio approach, where it has some elements of growth.

One example I have, closer to income than growth, is HXH-T. It is a dividend ETF, low MER cost, with beta of < 1, pretty risk adverse. The price of the stocks is the index it tracks plus dividends.

Thank you,
Roger

Q: Given the current economic climate and potential future trends, which industries or sectors do you believe are well-positioned for long-term growth in the stock market, and what specific Canadian and US companies within those industries or sectors do you believe have strong fundamentals and potential for long-term momentum?

Thank you!

Derek.

Q: So after listening to Josh Brown interview Ric Edelman this ETF was discussed and seems timely. Would appreciate your views on Mr Edelman who sounds plugged in to what the future may deliver (he does however predict the downfall of Alphabet which isn't the base case of many - you included). That aside wondering about this ETF and your current opinion on whether it's buyable. Given the possibilities of AI, robotics, potential developments in medical science and treatment - all things that may fascinate but about which many of us have very limited understanding or vision about - might you characterize this holding in an appropriate portion as a smart piece of an overall portfolio that provides investors with exposure to future areas of potentially exponential growth - and perhaps your take on this ETF vs the ARK ETFs re valuation, risk and holdings comparisons - appreciate your viewpoint.

Q: I currently hold MSFT, NVDA, AMZN, and GOOG. All are at a 5% weight, except for AMZN, which is at 3%. I have an additional 2% to invest. Would you suggest topping up AMZN to 5%...or purchasing another tech stock with the additional funds? If the latter, would you please provide three stocks ranked by both risk and potential profit...and explain why you have selected each? Thank you.

Q: I have some cash to deploy in various accounts. What do you suggest for income (divvy) in a cash account? to be held 3-5 years?
For capital gains to be held 2-3 years?
longterm (10-20 years) in a tax sheltered account?
Looking mostly for Canadian stocks but also a couple of US ones (but not for income)
Please take as many credits as fair. TIA

Q: Its pretty obvious that AI is going to be a big investment thesis this year and likely for a number of years. It looks like it will be very disruptive, which will create investment opportunities. With that will come hype and promotion of low quality companies that will get propped up in the wave of AI. Like crypto, NFT's, etc etc I think AI will probably be the next craze, and a lot of money will be made and lost. But so far the only recommendations I'm reading about are mega caps like Nvidia, Apple, GOOG which can do well but they aren't going to be multibaggers. Do you have any insight into smaller companies that may benefit most from this AI boom? Looking for game changing smaller companies that have the best chance at multibagger gains? Thx

Q: Good Afternoon

I currently hold TEAM(even), VEEVE(-10%) TRADEDESK(-10%),CROWDSTRIKE (-35%) and UNITY(-75%). Each of these positions make up less than 2% of my portfolio. Unfortunately there are no tax losses applicable. If you were to consolidate which ones would you keep or in turn what would you buy as a replacement

Thank you

Q: I hold APPS in a USD portion of my TFSA (unfortuneatly) and am thinking to cut my losses. Do you think there would be better candidates that APPS could be swapped for at this time?
