Q: Hi Peter and 5iresearch team:
In your answer to Gerry's question on Feb 16, you mentioned that CSU and ATB have been the best Canadian compounders over the last ten years. You added DOL, BYD, TFII, BN, CLL.B, TRI based on historical performance and you are expecting LMN.V, TVK, HPS.A, TOI, GSY to be potential Canadian compounders in the future.
1. Would YOU still invest in CSU, ATB, DOL, BYD, TFII, BN, CLL.B, TRI with the same conviction and weighting?
2. Could you please provide a similar answer but for the US market? Please provide 10 or so best US compounders based on historical performance that YOU think investors should keep investing in and 5 or so US companies that YOU would buy as potential US compounders in the future.
Thank you for the great service.

Q: Hello, I recently sold my rental property in 2022, and I now have funds sitting in the bank, earning interest. My ultimate goal is to invest this money wisely and create a portfolio that can serve as an inheritance for my loved ones. I am currently in the process of assembling a collection of high-quality stocks.
For me, the presence or absence of dividends is not a decisive factor when selecting stocks. Could you kindly recommend two top-performing stocks in each sector of the global market? These core holdings will play a crucial role in achieving my long-term financial objectives.
As of now, I have already purchased shares in NVIDIA (NVDA), Meta, Intuitive Surgical (ISRG), Alphabet (GOOGL), Canada: Goeasy (GSY), Nuvei (NVEI), Definity Finacial (DFY), Boyd Group(BYD), Thomson Reuters (TRI), Aritzia (ATZ), and Nutrien (NTR).
Thank you in advance for your valuable insights.

Q: How would you rank these four in terms of 1) current valuation 2) safety of invested funds (kind of related to current valuation I guess) 3) anticipated investment return over the next couple of years and overall quality of investment - ie. if you were to select only 1 or 2, in what order would you invest considering the overall quality/valuation of these companies? Thanks.

Q: I own 3 of the big 7, Apple, Amazon and Nvda and manage the positions for weighting. I would like to own Microsoft and/or Google. Please suggest if you think it's necessary to expand to one or both of these, and if better to have a half position in both, or full position in one or both considering the other holdings. Thanks!
Q: Hi 5i. on SMCI
In a previous answer you said "It will do its thing and find a 'level' (whatever that might be) where volatility starts to abate."
Could you hazard a guess at what that 'level' might be - just for fun of course.
On a slightly more serious note - do you think momentum will drive this UP or DOWN in the short term (days/weeks) (and how about 3-5 years) ?
Thanks

Q: I know you continue to like Nvidia and other Semiconductor names, but don't you think the SemiConductor space is getting a bit Pricey. Given that this space is considered somewhat cyclical, would you wait for some of these stocks to cool down or would you buy Nvidia for example, based on continued momentum.
Thanks
Tim
Thanks

Q: How likely is it that NVDA will announced a stock split after releasing Q1 earnings next week?
Q: In a recent answer you said 10% would be your max weight for nvda. If you were now at 10% would you trim prior to earnings on Feb 21? Taxes not an issue. Thanks.

Q: If this is too broad a question, please feel free to decline. If you were to start from scratch today, with a goal of maximizing total return at 10 years regardless of income/growth/dividends/distributions etc., which stocks would be on your list?
Q: Hi,
I trimmed some of my SMCI last week as the weight was getting too high. Since then it shot up another 25%. Obviously in hindsight I should have waited.
My question is does this stock movement scare you? Why does it keep going up this fast?
Thanks

Q: I don't own any. What is the buying strategy. Should I chip away or buy a full position and not worry about an entry point.
Q: Hi
Using round numbers NVDA share price is currently about 100 times revenue. For comparison purposes MSFT is 15 times revenue and AAPL is 7.5 times revenue. I understand NVDA has more growth than MSFT and AAPL but what am I missing here?

Q: Hi Team,
I was debating if it was time to trim some NVDA after the big gains the stock has had over the past while. Do you have any quality growth names that would you suggest buying with the funds if I do decide to trim at this point? From my end I was thinking of HPS.A...would this be advisable? Or perhaps ISRG. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Shane.

Q: What is the most you would let NVDA run in your portfolio before you would trim it?
Q: I own AMD but not NVDA. I believe that NVDA has a better growth profile and was thinking of a straight-up switch. I hold AMD in an RRSP account so there wouldn't be any tax consequences. Does this make sense?
Q: Hi Folks,
I am looking to add one more stock in my non-registered account. I have chosen either UBER or NVDA. May I have your opinion as to which one you feel would be best to buy today - for growth.
Thanks

Q: Good morning,
Just curious. In your opinion, do you suspect that Nividia will announce a stock split sometime this year? I sort of recall the last one was around $500 a few years ago.
Thank you

Q: With recent gain in tech sector, are you concerned with valuations getting stretched. Is there some kind of euphoria being building which draws some parallel to 2000 tech bubble. Like 20-30% jump on META, NVDA, SMCI, ARM. Is there a suggested to mitigate risk while maintaining decent exposure. Thanks
