Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: My primary investment objective is to find companies with growth potential with a secondary goal for some dividend income. I bought Innergex renewable (INE) a year ago at 14.80. This year it has been flat around 14.50. I am considering selling it and reinvesting the proceeds into Gilead (GILD). With GILD there is also the potential of some currency appreciation. Please let me have your thoughts. Is there another Company you would prefer to Gilead??

Q: Would you put money into biotech seasonally ? In the past I have done well on Celgene ... However , I have taken quite a hit on Gillead, so I am cautious.
Or should I look at the ETFs for a broader/safer play ?

Q: I'm holding about 5% of my investments in cash in a US dollar account and looking to invest in a blue chip dividend paying stock. Maybe one of the two above or another name you like. I'm 80 so dividend and low risk is what I would like to find.
Thanks for your great service

Q: Hello,

Over the past several years I have put together an adhoc portfolio with the following allocation:

ZEO (oil) %4
GIB.A %36
GILD %11
VOO %27
VSP %9
VIG %13

My goal overall is to build a long term growth portfolio (25-30 years) with some stocks mixed in. Any recommendations on how or if I should re-balance this? In your opinion is there anything I should move away from or that may be missing from this portfolio that I should add for long term growth? (ex. emerging markets or a global equity market index ETF).

If so, you could please provide a couple I should consider? I have a lump sum that I plan to contribute to the portfolio over the next 60 days.

Thank-you very much in advance!
Ryan
