Q: Assuming you could keep track of N companies, would it not make sense to own as many as possible if business fundamentals are good, the price is reasonable, and you have the funds? This is compared to trying to select which specific company to add to or purchase from a basket of options. My understanding is that often a few really great companies can end up carrying your portfolio and make up for the losers (I believe this was from Peter Lynch's book). The reason I'm asking is because I look at more volatile growth stocks like APPS, AT, NVEI, EGLX, TOI and GUD , and keep asking myself that question. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Q: When looking at growth vs value or tech vs more cyclical stocks, we have seen stocks like GH go from $181 to 99, Coupa from $377 to 208 or Acuity Ads go from $26 to $8 while the DOW hits all time highs. My question is what do you expect would happen to this type of small, growth company when a correction comes? Have they been punished enough that they are buffered or even so an inflow of capital in a rotation or would they likely be punished even more severely due to (still) high valuations? As a part 2 to this question, what would be your five favourite growth stocks that have been beaten up and would you start positions in them today or wait for further declines?
Thanks!

Q: If you wanted to buy 3-5 small or micro stocks as a speculative’ish basket, looking for a home run within 5-7 years, what would you pick? (Any sector and US or Canada)

Q: Hello Peter,
Can you comment on Greenlane's earnings release? Is it worth adding to it? Also, for Nuvei and Well, are both worth adding or just a hold for now? With current numbers for knight, beating on eps and revenues, do you think the company is finally showing signs of upward movement in the stock price ( it is up but are things looking good now). On my last question on Enthusiast Gaming,, is the stock a hold now and any ideas as to why it was not one of the takeover targets ( i know it is speculation but why would you think score over eglx). Much appreciated for your comments.

Q: Hi,

I’m looking to either add to or start a new position in my TFSA, 3-5 year timeline (or longer), with a high risk tolerance. Can you suggest a few companies (no preference Can/US). I currently already have small positions of both Topicus and Eglx inside my TFSA, so I’m also considering just adding the new funds to either of these. Thanks for the great service you provide!

Q: I have a 1/2 position in Lightspeed which I've acuired at an average cost of $61. I would like to begin adding more starting now. Although I generally don't try to time my purchases per se, I have preferred with LPSPD to look for slight pull backs given its volatility. Based on current circumstances, if one were looking for a "good" entry point price wise, what would that be, and if one were looking for a "very good" entry point price wise following a pull back what would that be?

I have the same basic question about 2 of your other recommendations I currently own - ATZ and EGLX. Based on current circumstances what do you consider to be a good entry point and a very good entry point for each of them?

Thank you. waiting for a pull back, but also content to purchasena With today's positive earnings release and the likehood of continued la ped on

Q: Hi 5i,
In your answer to Andrew this morning, of the companies he proposed you did not name EGLX as one of your top 3 choices for a TFSA. I'm not sure if this represents a downgrade in your opinion of EGLX...?
What are your current thoughts about EGLX and is there anything to be leery of at present that wasn't a concern a month or so ago when, if memory serves me, you were fairly bullish on the stock?
Thanks,
Peter

Q: My young grandson has $450 to invest. I have agreed to purchase the stock (s) in a non registered account. Long term hold. I'm picking up the trading cost. Suggested a stock (s) that trades under $10. Can you recommend one or two stocks to consider. This is more of a learning exercise for him. Thanks for your wonderful service.

Q: If you had to pick three out of the above for a TFSA today, which three would you pick?

Thanks!

Q: There has been talk recently about averaging down. Awhile back 5i seemed to like AT and EGLX, and my price on it was in the $12.00 range. Since they were favourable about people having this, I averaged down at the time it was $7 and change, it is now down over the past 5 days 16.9%. What I have read lately with 5i, it seems now I should not have averaged down. I am happy I didn't with AT down 9.4% in the past 5 days. Once a stock goes sour - rule of thumb it usually stays sour? On another note, PINS was having a nice recovery, but over the last 5 days it is down 10.2% - I averaged down on that one 4 or 5 months ago. In the future, I don't think I will be averaging down.
Your thoughts are always appreciated.

Q: Hi Team,
Three part question. Firstly, I know as professionals you do not recommend “winners” climbing to over a certain % of ones Portfolio. However, if early investors in Apple or shopify for example would of bailed ; some would not be millionaires now. Or in some cases , billionaires where the CEO’s are holding most their wealth in their company stock. How can one hope to land that “life changing trade”(1000% or more) if one keeps trimming eternal winners ? Does it not make sense if a person finds that “winning company” to keep holding of goals are set high?

Secondly..is GSY one of those stocks, if you were to choose the likelihood of a solid company with good prospects, to choose to be overweight in and aim for that life changing 1000% move over a 10 yr or so period? I ask this company specifically because I am overweight this company and this is my goal. (Up over 200% so far and metrics still make this stock look cheap to me)

Thirdly… if you were to speculate a few different companies, either US or Cnd as your “best guess’s” so to speak of having the likelihood of producing 1000% gains over the next 10yrs or so; what would they be? Thanks for your input and deduct credits as you see fit. Thanks
Shane
