Q: Which company to buy at this time for near term price appreciation. Any other suggestions in consumer staples. Your PA suggests I should increase consumer staples (no staples in my portfolio at this time).
Thanks

Q: My portfolio analytics says I'm low on consumer staples.

I'm considering the above companies but also wondering if the ETFs listed might be the better way to go.

Please comment and rate these companies and ETFs.

Thanks as always for your insight.

Q: Is inflation finally under control?
Will we have a recession? How deep could it be?
Are our banks safe?
Are we losing control of our country to others that seem to play by different rules? We just kicked a Chinese diplomat out of Canada for threatening the family of a member of the Canadian parliament. How will China retaliate?
Russia is still at war against Ukraine. How is that impacting the world economy?
Climate change is threatening economies in counless ways. Almost all negative.

So here's my question. In your opinion, what Canadian and global companies offer a service so necessary or a product that is in such high demand that they will persevere in these troubled times and make profits for their investors?

Q: I have been fortunate to own the above names, some for not as long as I wish I did. When you look at their 10 year charts they are impressive. Can I ask you to list a few more Canadian and perhaps several U.S. stocks that maybe also pay a small dividend but that you consider must own names for long term growth? (I do own BN as well). Thank you as always.

Q: I am debating between Costco and Siemens for a roughly 2% position. I have slightly more Consumer Discretionary versus Consumer Staples exposure, but I feel like I have decent expsoure to each. Costco interests me as potential long-term holding with a track record of consistent success; Siemens interests me for its broad exposure to all things technological, including the fields of automation, medicine, power distribution and electrification. I could ultimately buy each, but I only have enough free capital to purchase one of the two at this moment. Using the criterion of a five-year time horizon or longer, which would you deem to be a more prudent investment?

Q: Hi Team,
Understanding that weightings are personal, what is the highest weight that YOU would be comfortable with before trimming the stocks above?

Q: Good morning and happy Friday.

Here is a fun little exercise, if you had 1 million $ concentrated portfolio of 5-10 stocks and had a goal of an average 6%-8% return annually via combination of dividend and capital appreciation of holdings what stocks would you own? Canadian holding, and combo Canadian/U.S.A holdings. So 2x portfolio examples.

I realize this is just for fun and not financial advice. Thank you for the years of great service.
