Q: Hello 5i
I own all of the companies noted. I'm wondering if there is excessive overlap here and if I should sell one or more in an effort to reduce overall holdings?

Q: A first question on this Discovery, which has a fairly stale chart over five years. However, they have some significantly subscribed to channels including Discovery, Animal Planet, TLC and HGTV. With Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Disney vying for space and content, how would you rate DISCK as a takeover target? With a $15B market cap, I know APPL and AMZN could afford it, what about the others?

Q: I've been active in DIY investing for 7 years. Have chosen only CDN listed stocks and, with 5i's help, have been reasonably satisfied with returns over that period. However, despite my stubborn resistance to the US, I cannot continue to ignore that market. So I have 5 forced-choice questions for you. I will invest in 5 of the 11 listed. I'd like your opinion about which one in each group to invest. These are LT holds (5+ years). I'm not expecting a detailed rationale, but would appreciate knowing if your preferences are strong. Q: Google is trading close to January 2018 levels. Amazon is above March 2018 values but not dramatically. How much better are these companies then 20 and 17 months ago respectively on key metrics?
Are they as good a bet as you are going to get to beat the S&P 500 over the next 5 to 10 years? (I know a lot can happen over that time frame, but that is the same with every company)

Q: Cons Disc [CD] portfolio target is 9%; current holdings 1.5% ea AMZN, SHOP [technically IT, but now more similar to AMZN? if not, then only 3% allocated], and CMCSA. 5+ yrs growth goal. To add and/ or new buys?
1. e-commerce: AMZN, SHOP, others?
2. retail watch list [WList]: advise re LULU, NKE, SBUX, others?
3. TV/ connected WList: DIS, ROKU & TLRA [both IT, but ultimately tied to Consumer spending]
4. Or, XLY and/ or TDB 424 Fund [Entertainment & Communication holds some Cons Disc, but not 100%] or other.
This is a mix but would appreciate your advice with sector allocation.

Q: Hello 5i,
I've done well with Shopify and Amazon with SHOP being up over 1000%. Lucky me!
They now collectively make up a little under 10% of my holdings. Everything I see says "better days ahead" so I don't mind holding on to them being a long term holder.
What do you think, is my exposure too concentrated?

Q: AMZN has been pretty flat for the last year. I've held BABA for a while now and am around the break even point. Would you advise selling BABA and buying Amazon?

Q: With the world feeling a little uneasy about a pending recession, I want to keep only holdings that will weather a downturn. I'm not trying to time the market, and want to hold stocks, that while they may dip, have good balance sheets, good management, and will likely see a recovery. Others I will sell and hold the cash. Above are my current holdings. Do you see any that may be susceptible to excessive weakness in a recession and would therefore meet my sell criterion? Thanks,

Q: When trying to find the next stock with great returns like, Shopify or Beyond Meat what or where should one look.
I'm guessing something disruptive with greater than 30% revenue growth.
I have been cruising news articles and used stock screeners and haven't found anything recently. I'm guessing that a vegan fast food restaurant chain would take off similar to Chipotle and Noodle Co. did years ago.
Any companies or thoughts?

Q: I would like to start a position in both Googl and Amzn, but I wondering if I should wait for a better entry point. I realize its impossible to pick the perfect entry point, but I wondering what your thoughts would be on just taking the plunge now, and not worrying to much about what price I get in at, since this is a longer term hold min. 5 years, or should I stay on sidelines until all of this Trade Business settles down?

Q: Hi team,

I am watching WATCH. Cramer keeps coming up with new acronyms. I think he coined FANG several years ago. Cramer likes large cap consumer names with scale. So do I. I am looking for a new name in that sector to offset my large tech holdings. I already own a full Walmart position. While I like Amazon, I still view it as trading with tech sentiment, despite its classification, and I have more than enough tech. I am not sure it should be in this grouping, but I guess Cramer needed an A. I am considering Target, which I think is back on track after its foray into Canada a few years ago. I think I missed the big run in Costco. I don’t mind buying expensive tech stocks for growth, but I am more reluctant to overpay for consumer stocks. Lastly is Home Depot and it still looks relatively attractive to me here. What is your view on adding either Target or Home Depot for growth or are there other large cap consumer names that I should consider?
