Q: hi, can I get your picks ( 5 or so?) of US large cap (and/or larger mid-cap) growth stocks that you like for longer term buys with equal or better prospects than GOOGL and META. cheers, Chris

Q: Everyone. I own AMZN and SHOP in equal amounts. Should I sell one and use the proceeds to buy the other? If yes which one do I sell? I have a triple gain on AMZN and a six times gain on SHOP.. Clayton

Q: Good Morning! On a macro level and considering the current high average P/E ratio of the S&P 500 would you be more inclined toward Canadian, International or Emerging market investing. I see that both Canadian and International markets are also priced above average, although not as much as the US. For Emerging markets India and China on the other hand are presenting faster growing economies (still China is much riskier in my POV but BABA might be a good opportunity). What are your thoughts ? Thank you.

Q: I need to trim SMCI, NVDA and VRT. I have partial positions in AMZN, MSFT, AMD, LLY,GOOG, AXON, NXT, CELH, PLTR and NTNX. Could you please order the partial positions from high to low, for a potential add? What are your recommendations for 4 or 5 other growth stocks, any size/sector that I could investigate for a new position? Would any of the these growth stocks fit into the ranking of the partial positions? If so, could you place them into the ranking? Q: If you could only buy one of these companies for long term growth which would you make the case for? Obviously AMZN is an order of magnitude larger. They are both slotted into the consumer discretionary sector, but how closely do you see them tracking to the factors that would move that sector? Do you foresee AMZN initiating a dividend one day? Does any other U.S. name stand out to you that you vastly prefer? Thanks for your thoughts.

Q: Thank you for answering my earlier question on the screening criteria for Options. Your customary comprehensive and measured answer has an inbuilt framework for an article by itself! Your words of caution is appreciated.

Using the criteria that you have outlined in that answer i.e. Mkt cap 10 B+, Good cash position and sales and earnings growth, positive cash flow and reasonable volatility and momentum, can you give me 5 stocks for writing covered calls?

Where I get stumped is that some good companies give paltry premiums! Hence this question!

Q: I have held Magna for multiple years, and with the execption of a surge in value three years ago (which it eventually surrendered), it is at pretty much my original purchase price. I have been considering a switch to Amazon, as I cannot think of a more dominant player in the consumer cyclical space. I had also considered starting a position in Aritzia, but I am not as confident in its profile as I am with Amazon. The position of this investment is 4% of portfolio, if the exposure level has any influence at all on the analysis. One potential tailwind for Magna could be manufacture of parts for battery electric vehicles, which should increase in demand over the next five years: my understanding is that MG provides many such parts to multiple companies that make these particular automobiles.

Would a switch from MG to AMZN be prudent, or is there a stronger case to be made for staying put? As always, thanks so much for your insights, and I look forward to your response.

Q: Buffet likes to invest in companies with a moat and hold long term. He has a position in SNOW. Some analysts are calling into question the moat of SNOW. Do you know if SNOW has a decent moat or are they in what is essentially a commodity type business, in which case their margins will be eroded over time?

Q: A family member is 73 years old, Canadian, single, retired, and lives a very modest lifestyle. She has $100,000 from a recent inheritance with no other savings. I have been asked to assist with setting up an investment portfolio. Another family member has recommended she place some funds with a "MIC" which historically has a 7 % return; I think $20,000 could be allocated there. Then looking for a reasonable measure of security of capital, with a balance of some income and a bit of growth, my thought would be to divide the remaining $80,000 into the following: VDY; FTS; RY; SLF; BAM; CNQ; ALA; WSP; Amzn; and VGRO.

If you were me, would this seem like a reasonable approach?
