Q: Understanding that time in the market , not timing the market is best approach to long-term gains. And that one should never try to "wait for, or guess, the bottom" to pick up solid stocks, humour me with this scenario -> COVID-19 is gone tomorrow! Albeit with somewhat new reality. But it's effectively off the table as a criteria or condition for stock selection. What are your top 3 industries, and individual names in each industry you'd be rushing out to buy? Feel free to add more than 3 industries and names. I have always been a fan of Info Tech (software) so you can exclude this as I strongly believe that trend is always positive. Thanks.

Q: My portfolio is a little out of balance when it comes to healthcare stocks.

I am considering: WELL.CA, VEEV.US, GH:US, SYK.US, BIIB.US, ABBV:US, AMGN:US. (I already own IHI and BAX)
Are there others that you would add to the list?
Is there an ETF that you would recommend?
Could you please rank the above stocks with regards to 3-5 year hold?
I sold my position in GUD about a year ago.

I currently have a limited amount of healthcare exposure in my portfolio and looking to build the allocation. I hold some MDT in my US account, I have been adding to that holding on dips. I would appreciate hearing your favourite US and Canadian healthcare stocks.. Please provide your top choices for US and Canada plus any particular ETF's you like in the healthcare sector. Q: Back in July 2020, I purchased ABBV, in a non-registered account, to get exposure to the healthcare sector and to continue to diversify my portfolio outside Canada. Since that time, I am down 16% on ABBV. Knowing 5i recommends ABBV, would you suggest I purchase more ABBV (average down)? Perhaps it would make more sense to sell it, take the tax loss, and purchase another healthcare company based outside of Canada. If your recommendation is to sell, what other healthcare sector companies would you suggest?

Q: I purchased AMGN - 18 months ago for $243.00. Since that time, it has come up to that level a year ago and recently twice this year. I have had the stock 18 months and I am still under water. 5i likes this stock in the health field - how much longer do you think it will take before I see a profit? On another note today the 26th - the market had the biggest run in ages, but participants (mostly tech) NVDA, PYPL, SHOP, KXS along with other techs, did not participate and went the other way. Were people selling these stocks to raise money to buy the other ones that went up? I know you will have the right answer. Thanks Dennis

Q: Morning 5i,
I'm looking to get my US allocation in my portfolio up to ~40% in the Healthcare, Industrials, and Tech sectors. I have a VERY long time frame, but I'm interested in businesses that have aggressive/high growth in the IMMEDIATE to 2 year timeframe.

Could you please rank the names below in terms of highest short-term growth potential coming out of a COVID world (reopening, new normal).

And if possible, are there any US names that trump these selections instead? Please take as many question credits as required:

Healthcare: VEEV, AMGN, REGN
Tech: TEAM, TWLO, MSFT, NVDA, AYX, AMZN, GOOG, QCOM, PYPL
Industrials: ROP, RTX

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
In my US Healthcare basket I currently own PFE , JNJ,STYK, and MDT
a)Are there other US Healthcare names that you would substitute for any of the 4 as part of a basket?

b) I also own CSH.UN and SIA and love the dividends and am hopeful of a price jump based on your previous replies of that beaten up sector getting to the other side. In a basket approach are there other names in the US that would warrant a trimming of either of those two or of SIS or GUD to own on a long term basis total return dividends and capital gains?

Q: Comments on earnings for MDT please. Should I top up a 2% position? The only other healthcare stock I own is GUD. What other healthcare stock (US) would you add currently?
Also a comment on your service. It has paid for itself many times over! Just yesterday saved $1200 by using Norberts gambit. Something I would not have done if not for being part of the 5i community. Thanks for educating the individual investor.
