Q: Hello Folks:
As many others I have been hanging onto our Tech stocks (Goog, Amazon and Apple) hopping improvement is in sight.

Currently in consumer stocks we own Costco and Johnson and Johnson and media advises are diversifying more into this segment (eg. Mendalez, P&G etc.) useful strategy.

Do you think thinning down Tech is good advice? Perhaps utilities such as Enbridge could also be good defensive play. We are seniors valuing dividends with which Tech world is parsimonious. Apple appears the best bet in Tech as they actually produce and sell real products. Everything changes, however we value your thoughts and suggestions of including specific equity options (including an ETF). Currently I do not own any ETF's as I have preferred individual companies.
Thank you very much
brian

Q: An article today suggested that Apple is close to coming out with a diabetic monitoring capability for its iWatch. If correct, what would that do to DXCM?

With that question in mind, I'm looking to add a small position in healthcare. Which of the listed companies do you see as having a better future for a long-term hold?

Appreciate your insight.

Q: In my TFSA, these are the stocks I would "like" to buy (CDR, NEO), probably in the order I have listed them, unless you have a suggestion: GOOG, NVDA, MSFT, AMZN, AAPL. But I will need to sell some positions to raise the cash to do so. These are my options to sell, probably in the order I have listed them, unless you have suggestions: EGLX, LSPD, TOI, NVEI, ATS. The goal is growth over a very long period (TFSA will go to my children). I am open to eliminating any from the buy list in order to keep any from the sell list. I just don't know how to compare the American names to the Canadian names. Thank you: I realize this may not be an easy question to answer, but it will help me a great deal.

Q: I currently own GOOG, MSFT and NVDA and want to round out my tech holdings with a 3% investment in one last stock. Can you please provide three options - in order of preference - that you believe would make strong additions to my existing portfolio? I would also be interested in the rationale for each of your picks. Thank you.

Q:
Any thoughts on BYD time to add more or sell/hold.

What do you like in finance space looking at COF, FFH, BLK, VISA...I already own GSY. TD,RBC...do i add to existing names or buy something new?

Do you think a commodities bull market is imminent with China opening back up. If you believe the sector will have legs going fwd do you preferer single stocks or an ETF (plse list you picks)

What do you think about Natural gas prices Presently i own 1,000ARC in the space and am still up 5% is it time to cash in ?

Lastly i am sitting on 40% cash expecting another test of the last OCT lows but looking at the recent strength am staring to get a little nervous (FOMO) your thought's please is it time to start to nibble at CSU,BYD,MSFT,APPL,AMAZ ATZ, GOOG

Q: I recently heard a podcast which said that buybacks generally benefit insiders and were actually illegal prior to the Clinton administration. I do notice myself that the stock price does not seem to rise much on the announcement of big buybacks and that companies seem to do it when the price is higher rather than times like these when it would seem most worthwhile.

What is your take on this?

Q: I hold CRWD (1.5%) and APPL (1.45%). My choices are: sell them both and purchase CSU; sell CRWD and buy more APPL; sell APPL and buy more CRWD. Which option would you recommend? Moderate risk; five year timeframe. Thank you.

Q: I want to invest in 5 or 6 of the above companies, using CDRs on the NEO exchange. I know you like them all, but I need to narrow it down a bit, based on available funds. Although it will be in a non-registered account, the goal is very long term growth. My wife and I will not need the money, so essentially I suppose I'm investing for my children. If two of the stocks are roughly equal in growth potential, then I would choose the one that adds a bit of diversification. But I don't mind if they are correlated and all move up together. It is probably easiest for you to answer this question by rank ordering them, and I will pick the first 5 or 6. Thank you for such great service over the years.

Q: In many cases buying the top 3-5 stocks of an index gives a better end result than the whole index since you don't have to drag the less performing.
1-Do see the same apply to the S&P500?
2-In a 3% (normal?) fed rate what is the normal multiple for the S&P500?
3-What is the current forward PE for the S&P500?
4-How does this apply when the top 5 holdings are technology with higher multiples than the banks and oil companies?
Many questions but one goal, trying to put the dry powder in an optimal manner.

Thank you

Yves

Q: Would you recommend using investment money to help pay off a line of credit? That money would be coming from a tfsa. If so, from the list provided, please list the top 5 stocks in order that you would sell?

APPLE and MSFT would be sold at a loss.

Thanks for everything
