Q: I know that 5i does not cover US companies, however I read Peter's recent article in the FP on US tech companies and the need to have some tech exposure. That being said, for long term growth do you recommend buying into these companies at today's valuations or has that train left the station?

Q: Hi Peter and Staff

Thanks for all you do

Q: I am currently overweight in tech (now pushing 23%). I have just retired (with a generous defined benefit pension) and am trying to adopt a more conservative approach to investing. Given this new focus:
a) What would you suggest would be an appropriate weighting for tech?
b) Could you list the above-noted holdings in order of least to most risk?
c) Could you offer your thoughts with respect to which stock - or stocks - on this list represents the best balance of value and growth?
Thank you.

Q: Hello team,
What is your position on Apple today? Do you think the recent weakness has created a good opportunity to trade the stock? Would you not think the stock regain its (10%) loss following the release of its Q1 after the close tomorrow?
Thanks for your guidance!

Q: Hi guys,
I own TEAM, JPM, AMAT, GRUB, and AAPL in my RRSP. Each are 4-5% weightings with the exception of AAPL which is 10%. I've owned AAPL for years but I've acquired the other 4 companies within the past 2 months.
AAPL - up 140%, TEAM - down 10% (on yesterday's earnings miss), GRUB - down 10%, JPM - down 5%, AMAT - down 5%.
Do you see any issues with any of these companies? Would you HOLD all or recommend adding to or selling any.
I like to buy and hold long term and have no issues with patience. I just want to be sure that there are no red flags on any of these companies that I am missing...or if I should be viewing their recent drops as a buying opportunity.
thanks for the excellent service.
Mark

Q: In late January Tim Cook came to Toronto for his first ever visit to Canada as Apple CEO to advocate for a focus on coding education for children. He also sat in the lower bowl of the ACC, not a box, to watch the Leafs in a very low key appearance. As part of his trip I understand he also visited the Shopify offices. Why would such a high profile individual make such an under the radar stop at 'Canada's tech darling'? Is there anything to read into here? Your thoughts please.

Q: Hello,
I realize that you don’t focus on the US market but I have cash to deploy and would appreciate your opinion.
I am looking for 4-5 stocks regardless of sector to buy into this market dip. What would you suggest?
Thank you!

Q: Tim Cook recenting made a planned stop in Toronto with Shopify CEO Tobias Lütke to look at Shopify's AR product. Should investors of Shopify read into any of this? Apple's largest aquistion of Beats $3 billion in 2014 would look small as the current market cap of Shopify is $12 Billion USD.
Maybe Apple is not looking to acquire Shopify, but it is a really great endorsement of what is to come from Shopify and that they will be a player in AR.

Q: Hi,
I have 2 questions:
1) What is your opinion on Apple and Amazon's current stock price? Is it too overvalued (to buy)?
2) What do you think the impact of the new $14 minimum wage in Ontario will be on the food industry, particularly, on Premium Brand Holdings?
Thank you
