Q: Good Morning, I purchased 2 stocks for their dividend income, and to hold for at least 5-10 years. OKE is about 3.7% of my US portfolio and KEY at 2.9% of my Canadian portfolio. Am thinking of selling and taking advantage of the tax loss since they are underperforming. Would this be a wise move or should I stay the course and keep them. If I do sell I was thinking of adding X and Well along with DUK and GILD...thoughts or suggestions?

Q: Hi,
WELL, together with LSPD, GSY, REAl, VEEV, KL, makes up the core part of my portfolio.
I find when Canadian listed companies seek a listing on the US stock exchange they have much better exposure to a way larger market, which ultimately benefits the stock, provided they execute their plans successfully.
Would you see, WELL, a small company by US standards, benefitting from a listing in the US and do you think that management at WELL might be heading in that direction?

NB" The hypothetical question is from the idea that maybe they can grow in Canada without seeking other markets, but I am skeptical about that.

Thanks,

Q: 23 year-old slowly building out his TFSA. GSY (23%), KXS (19%) and LSPD (29%) now dominate weightings with PHO, PBH, REAL, BAM.A and CNR being between 5%-7% each. Going to trim GSY/KXS/LSPD back to 10% each and use the funds to purchase four new positions. Given this is a long-term hold could you suggest your favourite 5 or 6 (Canadian or US) growth stocks or those with potential to be the next SHOP in order of preference and why? Many thanks for your always astute insights.

Q: I hold the above companies in my TFSA and they represent my Tech holdings. I am getting a little overweight in my tech sector and am wondering if any of my holdings are in essence duplications. If so could you recommend which ones to sell.
I have a list of buys, including CAE, TFII, XBC, GOOS, and would redeploy the capital plus some of my cash to these positions. Of my potential buys in what order would you see as the best opportunities.

Q: Hello Peter, Ryan and Team,

I need to sell some of my shares in these companies to fund another investment. Of the stocks listed, in what order would you be inclined to sell first? Thank you.

Brad

Q: Hello Peter,
Can you comment on curaleaf's earnings? This company has been doing well but it looks like the market did not like its current earnings yet the company is growing nicely. Also, why would a company remove the current CEO that has done quite well for the company? Any reason for the other three stocks: jwel well, and doc to be taking a hit. Is this just short term sector rotation due to the vaccine announcement and if so, is it better just to hold these for longer timeframe? Thanks very much.

Q: I hold 1/2+ positions in XBC, WELL, LSPD, DPM, GUD in an attempt to add overall performance to my balanced portfolio. This group has performed well. I'm going to sell GUD and DPM. Your thoughts on adding to the rest of the holdings or adding something else like KXS. Any other stocks worth looking at?

Thank you.
Derek.

Q: My son who is 42 is opening a TFSA. He is getting a late start at investing as he has been emloyed overseas for most of his working life. He has asked me to help him. I am wondering if ETF's would be the best way to start. If so what would you suggest for seomeone his age. Also if he started with equities what would you suggest as well?

Q: I am trying to learn how to sell losers but it is complicated. Having held BYDDY for a few years I finally sold it just before it shot up this summer (whine). I plan to sell Western Forest Products at a big loss and reinvest the funds. Will you recommend a stock or two for the funds; I'm considering WELL or REAL or both, as I have partial positions in both? Thanks, Cathy

Q: I am interested why you would recommend Cloud MD (Doc). Is it because it's share price has increased by the graces of companies like Teladoc and Well, or do you think their promotional approach will result in a successful business model? I am old enough to remember Patient Home Monitoring (phm). Similarities here?
