Q: I bought some high flyers ... Now that I have made some quick cash on paper , I am concerned that I might lose if the market decides to go south. Do you have any feelings about these , or do you feel it is "safer" to play the ( broader ) Nasdaq rather than the tech sector as I am doing. Any thoughts are appreciated . I already own all of the Tech Giants , and they have done well too ( except for QCOM grrrrr) .

Q: Good morning.... we are 15 years away before we may need to access our RRSP..
We sold all enegy (although would be okay with one "best of class" or ETF)..
I have a solid mix of similar weightings (BCE,BEP.UN,BNS,PBH,ATD.B,FSZ,SJ,GUD SIS). I would like fixed income/US/International exposure...I will be adding XHY..
I am looking for suggestions for either a few ETF you recommend for US/International exposure...keeping in mind we would not need to withdraw for at least 15 years..and if you think should have a minimum of 5% in energy or alternate AI ETF...

Thanks
Matt

Q: Happy Holidays 5i!!
If you were to pick one or two ETFs or two to four companies which are expected to be show very good growth in the USA in 2018 which would you choose. I am not concerned about sectors and I realize you don't follow US companies closely. I do, however, respect your overall knowledge and welcome your comments.
Thank you
Dave

Q: Hello Peter and Team,
The article;Filling in Portfolio Gaps for a Canadian Fund Investor by Ryan Modesto makes the point that passive investing in the TSX 60 ETF is not proper diversification.

The 5i Balanced Equity Portfolio is actively managed with a strategy to offer a balanced diversified approach to sector, style, market capitalization and does not aim to mirror a broad index (BE Portfolio holds 15.62% in technologies and 2.41% in healthcare).

1. An investor with risk tolerance comfortable for the BE and a time frame of over 10 years would it be advisable to add two or three positions like ZQQ (US Technology sector exposure), ZUH (US Healthcare sector) and or ROBO (robotics and artificial intelligence)?

2. Would you consider these ETF not in line with the BE strategy and would create over diversification and or not to be in risk tolerance of the BE portfolio?

Thank for the great no conflict service that you provide, Ronald

Q: I am trying to gage if these stocks will surprise us in a positive way let’s say a 6 months to a year from now. In other words I am trying to think ahead of the curve.

-Considering how well Bitcoin has done will hive-tsx.v follow in its footsteps ?

-Solar. No one talks about it so much anymore.  Is this the calm before the storm.  Is this little known stock uge:tsx.v poised to do shout up?

-Is ostk.n  the next eBay ?  Amazon ? Shopify?

-Robotics.  Definitely the way of the future .  Are these 2 eft a good buy ? ( Botz and Robo ) .

Or are there other companies that are strongly recommend today that would appreciate in stock value ?

Thanks so much for your input.

Barry from Montreal.
