Q: Shipping companies. I was just doing some research on SBLK and came across a question from Jacques going back to Jan 30/2024. It looks like share prices of all those companies have dropped significantly over the course of this year. Some have low P/E ratios , look oversold and have nice yields. I would appreciate your assessment of the situation and whether or not this is a buying opportunity. My primary interest currently is SBLK but I am open to 5i’s suggestions. Thanks

Q: Hi team,

What do you think in general about the oil&gas transportation sector ?

Grateful for your views on the companies above for strong growth ? Would you buy any now ?

Deduct as many credits as you see fit.

Have a good day,

Q: Star Bulk Carriers (SBLK)( Dividend approx. 23%) and Golden Ocean Group( GOGL)(Dividend approx 13.8%) were mentioned in Seeking Alpha newsletter recently with regards to Attractive Dividend Stocks...

- 1. What are your thoughts on the 2 companies individually ?

- 2. What are your thoughts on the dividend offered ? EVEN if they cut their dividend in half ??

- 3. They Both have multiple Buy Ratings from what I see in my personal research...

- 4. Would you consider One or Both a Buy or Not ?

Thanks,
M

Q: At almost 69, moving from High Growth/Risk to High Dividends. Would very much appreciate your comments on these 3. Is the 27.7% Yield on SBLK safe?????
Which would be better. Also, any W/H Tax implications in a Registered/Non-Reg account? Thanks so much!

Q: I am looking to expand my portfolio in the area of shipping/tankers. I like ATCO due to it's connection with Seaspan and my understanding that containers will be in demand once the economy picks up. I believe they have also recently finalized a contract to build an ice breaker. It also provides a dividend. DAC is the largest of the four and is container based as well and the most expensive of the four. SBLK is mostly dry goods like grains and coal with ties to South America and China and has seen some decent gains recently. HMLP is an LNG carrier and also provides a dividend. I can see advantages to all four but wondering if you could provide any insight or preferences to ranking and how you arrived at those rankings. Thanks very much. Enjoy the service and your insights.

Cheers,
Kevin
