Q: What would be your best pick for a Large cap mining Co and a ETF ( USD and CAD), for exposure to Silver, or preferably, Both Silver and Gold ? Is there an ETF for royalty companies?

Q: I was wondering what your opinion of this official status of silver now is.

"Silver was officially added to the U.S. Critical Minerals list by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) as part of the final 2025 list, with the recommendation made in August 2025 and the final list published in November 2025, marking a major shift recognizing its importance in technology, defense, and renewable energy".

In light of this, what 3 silver or mining companies you would recommend for exposure small, medium, large cap examples.? Do you believe that this new status has lead to the large appreciation this year? I do hold physical so I have some exposure there already.

Q: I would like to diversify my gold miners into some silver miners. I already have PAAS. What would you suggest for a compliment to PAAS? And a brief reason why?

Q: The way things look right now, it is difficult to see how energy and materials (mining) won’t play a major role in keeping Canada afloat. It seems we have things the world needs/wants if we can get over our distaste for being prosperous. I’m wondering if you can suggest some “pick and shovel” plays in the space generally?

I am NOT in a Panic mode....yet! Having been a long term subscriber, I KNOW "Time IN the market" is more important than "Timing the market"!
Also know that "pull backs" are NOT Crashes!
I have your favourites in Gold, FNV/AEM/WPM/AGI. ARIS in the Mid tier. Added Silver with Ag/PAAS/CDE. (Down now!) I was going to add your recent pick SVM. But before I could pull the trigger the sudden drop in Gold/Silver happened.

With this in mind, where do you see the new floor for Gold and Silver? 3600/40 respectively? Should one add or wait or sell?

I see that SVM has just been added with a 1.5% position in 5i portfolio. This didn't get any mention in various questions on Silver by members. I see that the answers to previous questions on SVM (going back to August and beyond) didn't seem that enthusiastic.
Something must have changed. Bit surprised by the rationale in your portfolio update b/c China is not exactly in a "politically" correct environment!
In any event where would you place SVM amongst Silver stocks. (PAAS/CDE/AG/HL were your safe picks previously)

Q: Thank you for promptly answering my question on Silver Corp Metals. I have a follow up question. When a company does a "private placement" for convertible debt my understanding is that a bank/brokerage house will offer this placement to clients who have accounts with them. I guess that means that DYI investors who do their investing with a discount broker, in my case RBC, do not have access to these types of placements. Is that correct? Will that placement eventually end up on an exchange and be open to trading on that exchange? If the answer is yes then how long does it generally take for a private placement to end about on an exchange so it can trade? If the answer is no, then how does the investor who bought the private placement eventually liquidate their holding? I am just trying to get an understanding of how this works. Thanks for your help.

Q: Hello to 5 i's. I have a small position in SVM (silver crest metals) which was nicely in the green until recently and then late last week it took a big hit to the downside with the announcement of some financing to build out a new mine and a new juristriction (equador). The financing is convertible debt due in 2030 at 4.75 per cent. The stock has to go up about 30 per cent until it can convert to equity. It doesn't seem too bad for me but it seems there are people much smarter than me who sold with that announcement. Do you think the debt that SVM secured is not appropriate/or there is a better way to finance? Or are people selling for another reason, such as , exposure to Equador is too risky/SVM has built 8 mines and 3 processing plants only in China and have no experience in Latin America/ less bullish on precious metal pricing on a go forward basis, or some else? I am tempted to double my small position since the company has no debt (actually they are net cash on the balance sheet and minority equity position in New Pacific Metals, and they operate profitably. does 5 i think SVM, at current share price, is a good option for silver mining exposure?
