- Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (AEM)
- Maverix Metals Inc. (MMX)
- MAG Silver Corp. (MAG)
- Nutrien Ltd. (NTR)
Q: If you had to buy one materials stock right now, what would you buy? Canadian or US. I already have MAG:CA.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Can you please give your thesis on MMX? My understanding is that it is a royalty company that will do well if prices of silver / gold go up because they will get more royalties - how does that work? Do they give money to exploration companies in exchange for royalties, and we are counting on mgmt to pick good projects given their expertise? How many properties are cash producing vs speculative?
Also, the PE ratio at ~100 seems really high, but is that the best way to be looking at it?
I'm happy with high growth, but what happens if silver/gold prices stay low for another year or two, are they in trouble?
Thank you!

- Pure Gold Mining Inc. (PGM)
Q: In the past year, INK Reports show company officer and director insider net selling activity levels for AEM, AGI, PGM and WDO are significantly higher than levels for KL and MMX. I realize there are many reasons why insiders might decide to sell, but is it a red flag for investors when net selling activity reaches the levels exhibited by company officers and directors of AEM, AGI, PGM and WDO?
Q: Why is there such a large discrepancy between these two royalty company share price performance over the last year? MTA revenues seem like they are abysmal (and look like they declined?) while MMX revenues increased significantly (~30%). Would a lateral move from MTA to MMX be a good idea at this time?
- Franco-Nevada Corporation (FNV)
- Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (AEM)
- Jaguar Mining Inc. (JAG)
- Maverix Metals Inc. (MMX)
- Equinox Gold Corp. (EQX)
Q: Can i please get your assessment of the above 2 companies and how they compare. Would you consider them a buy for a new position today. If not can you please reccomend your favourites within the sector. Many thanks.
Q: Hello all, I am hoping you can compare these two companies in terms of the different metals they are exposed to (if you have the percentages at your disposal so much the better). Also, could you provide a mini-risk assessment of the two? I know their are differences as to royalty versus operator, market cap, geography and valuation, and I’m sure many other things, but I’m having trouble assessing it all.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Q: Scotia and Canacord are putting out reports very bullish on base materials. what are your top 5 both in large cap and small cap opportunities ?
Q: I have owned SSL for several years and done ok. Do you see any compelling reason to drop it in favour of MMX? It’s held in my TFSA so no tax implications for the move.
Thanks for your opinion. Happy New Year.

Q: Peter; As per your weekend article which silver investment choice would you prefer- single stock, etf, or royalty fund? And could you suggest one in each category? Thanks. No rush. Rod
Q: Hello, after searching around I cannot find any commentary as to why you included this company in the portfolio . A brief explanation as to why you like it would be appreciated. Apologies if it just my incompetence in navigating the website. Thank you very much.
Q: I hold both WPM and MMX in my RRSP, and WPM is up 75% recently which has pushed Basic Material weighting too high. I was considering trimming WPM and reinvesting into Industrials sector or Energy to help increase their weighting in portfolio.
Do you see continued strong upside on WPM ?
What would you recommend for Growth industrial or Energy companies at this time?

Q: When I graph the performance of these four gold miners over a period of three months, six months or year to date, KNT and FVI appear to have performed best. Can I trust Mr Market here? I hold shares in each of these two companies. Should I add to these positions or sell them in preference to MMX and WDO?
If you do not trust what the market seems to be telling me here please explain why.
