Q: Peter; Yesterday you mentioned a European ETF( VE) . Can you tell me how much of it is invested in Germany -and is there a German ETF that covers their main big cap companies?

Q: Good Morning
Recently the German Stock index DAX is reaching all time highs. Why is it that the German ETF EWG is down 22% from its high.
As well, can you tell us if the EWG is a good buy? Thank you for your insight.

Q: I bought EWG and VGK in tax-deferred accounts for diversification. Both are currency-unhedged. There has been significant uncertainty in the businesses held in these ETFs and both are down significantly. I had decided to ride things out and did not sell these and other such ETFs (the usual loss-aversion ).

Most of us have become increasingly concerned about Europe area companies (humanitarian crises, ongoing war, energy costs). Is one better to sell now, take the loss and come back later? OR do you think these ETFs have dropped so much now that there is a better than even chance of recovery in their price?

Q: With global recession concerns and uncertainty of energy supply to certain European countries, especially Germany, would you sell holdings in HEDJ (hedged to USD) and EWG (unhedged) ? Or would you hide under the bed and ride out the storms? These (along with Japan and Korea) were added in recent years to add diversification ). Under current conditions the proceeds could be deployed in the US markets where selling seems at least a tad overdone. The latter would dilute diversity in portfolio. What would you do? Take advantage of current US markets or leave investments spread out in the dismal markets in Germany and other regions.

Please do include your BRUTALLY frank opinion on the assumptions I have made (implicit in the question). Your frank opinion please (*BE* rude... please)
