Q: VFV vs. VOO:
I understand VFV ETF contains VOO ETF, correct? What would you recommend, buy VFV in CDN $ account, or convert CDN$ cash in US$ cash using Norbit gambit and buy VOO in US account with US$? Any other recommendation for ETF to invest in US S&P500?

Q: Hello - for my RIF- I have done well with VOO over the last year or so and am wondering if this is a good time to move to a different ETF such as RSP or IWP. My thinking is if the US economy does avoid a recession and the rally broadens, then maybe there will be more growth somewhere other than VOO. Your comments and suggestions please.
Thanks, al

Q: on friday i asked:
why do 4 different S&P 500 index funds all have different dividend yields?
To simplify, if we narrow it down to just VFV and VOO, it is the 15% witholding tax on VFV that accounts for the difference. In an RRSP VOO gets exempt.
It seems like we are getting punished for purchasing a Canadian domiciled fund.
So then it comes down to picking the best of 2 bad options:
VOO and pay roughtly 1.5% exchange on the purchase and then again on the sale
or
VFV and always pay a 15% witholding tax on dividends.

Have i misconstured anything?
Is it still a cointoss between VFV and VOO

Q: I have a full position in VOO in my TFSA that has done well with the recent rally but was originally a hedge that I no longer need in this account. Looking to move back to a growth-oriented position.

What would your top recommendations be for assets to high potential growth for the next 2 -5 years (excluding Tech as overweight there)?
With small caps having the potential to rise is there an ETF that would be skewed to this

Q: Hi team,

I currently have IWO as a core holding. I would like to change to a more concentrated ETF holding either in small or mid cap US. With so many different factors to choose from such as large/medium/small cap, dividend/value/growth/blend, current valuations, etc... and looking at past returns over various time periods, how does one choose the best ETF to invest in going forward now? I would consider all these ETF's to be high quality and obviously no one knows what the range of future returns will be. With small/mid cap underperforming lately vs large cap, would you place your bets on that spread closing over time? I'm comfortable with volatility and have a long term time horizon (+15yrs). How would you rank these going forward for best risk adjusted returns?

Thank you!
