Q: I came across this company just today. I was curious as to the history around the short attacks that keep happening on a consistent basis. Also, as to 5i's opinion what is there to like about this company. I have heard it has a bit of a monopoly in it's business structure. I noticed 5i has gotten a lot of questions about it in the past. Are there any catalysts that could sure up the share price in the near term. e.g. Signing a big 4 auditor?
Q: Hello 5i,
I’ve held Toy for a few years. When Toysrus hit last year many of us wrote in expressing concerns about the impact on the company questioning the growth prospects for spinmaster. It seems that management underestimated the impact because it keeps coming up in conference calls. As much as I’d rather not ask this question: should we question the skill of management to manage through this shift in landscape?
I held on to Ebix. Can you comment on earnings and offer an opinion in relative risk between it and CRM( on watch list but no position yet). For a long term hold which would be a better hold throug a market correction?
I’m underwater on sq and want to average down. Should I wait for a better opportunity to bring weighting to 2%? I know 5i is not thrilled at timing questions but how do tech stocks perform over the summer?
Q: I've finally decided to look at investing in some US stocks. Would you be able to suggest a couple of US growth stocks that have some stability and growth potential over the next few years? Thanks.
I'm looking to add a few more US stocks to my portfolio. I'm adequately represented in tech and financial sectors. Could you give me 4 or 5 names in other sectors where above average growth might be expected.
Q: Can you recommend 8-10 small -mid cap USA stocks with high growth potential, good to excellent balance sheets that your team at 5i would own or do own and consider a long term buy. Can be from any sectors. Please exclude the following names, as these are currently already owned: BOX, FLIR, ANET, TEAM, GRUB, LLL, CGNX, ALGN
Q: Just a follow up to my Feb 26 question (you're answer kind of sounds as if you like both and dont really have a preference either way). Now that Ebix has reported, could you say which one you prefer for a long (ish) term hold and why?
My U.S account is extremely heavy in the Tech sector and it’s time to scale back a couple of names to properly diversify. After making significant money on the listed names what do you suggest me dropping?
Q: Dear 5i
I`ve read a few times that you`ve mentioned EBIX as one of your favourite US stocks . I`ve looked at it in some detail and agree that it looks impressive . My only concern is its debt level and a relatively high short position. Do these metrics concern you at all ?
I`m considering FLIR and GRMN as well and was wondering if you could rate these three stocks best to worst .
Thanks
Bill C.
