Q: Hi There,
I am currently looking at adding one US stock to my RRSP account. I currently have JPM, VTI and IWO in the account. Of the above listed stocks or any others you feel would be a better fit, which would you recommend? Timeframe is 10 plus years.
Thank You,

Q: Hi guys, thanks for the excellent service and continued improvements. I find the new Portfolio Analytics section very helpful. Long winded question here so please deduct as many credits as you see fit.

I am overweight in tech, at 40% overall. I have 40% tech in both my RRSP and TFSA.

The biggest names I have are AAPL 9%, TEAM 6%, and NVDA 6%. All of those are held in the US side of my RRSP.

I have a mix of 15 stocks in my TFSA, roughly equal weighting. The tech holdings in there are PHO, KXS, CSU, SYZ, SHOP. Each comprises about 6% of the TFSA but just over 1% of overall holdings.

I am 7-8% underweight in:
consumer defensive,
communication services,
industrials,
utilities.

I feel I should trim back or sell at least one of AAPL, TEAM or NVDA but hard to given they have all been growing and have potential to grow further. Are there any obvious choices to cut or pull back here? Can you please suggest at least one name from each of the following sectors:
consumer defensive,
communication services,
industrials,
utilities.

thanks !
Mark

Q: Would you take a short term trade position on XPO with the "gambling" portion of your account? If not, do you have a better idea? I own NVDA and MU already, MU is a shorter term idea, NVDA will have to be trimmed soon due to size in my portfolio, but plan to keep a full weight for years.

Q: Looking to purchase a position in something (sector or weight not important) with good growth potential over 2-5 years looking for both US and CDN opportunities. Two names popped up recently on my radar TRQ and Chemtrade . Realize that both are completely different and would like your opinion on both and recommendations of 3-4 alternatives. Feel free to deduct credits as required.
Cheers

Q: Hi team,

As you know from my questions, I like tech and am a growth investor. I do own some lower beta non-tech stocks as a counter-balance; I just don’t ask a lot of questions on them. The cloud is working these days, with a few normal hiccups. I follow a ton of stocks in the space, so I will ask about five (down from ten) that were bid very high going into earnings, that is, TEAM, TTD, SPLK, AYX, WDAY. Earnings and guidance, as far as I can recall were great, yet the stocks sold off. I attribute it to normal profit taking after big run-ups. I own TTD and TEAM. I owned WDAY in the past, but sold it prematurely. I am a bit shocked and impressed today how AYX shot up about 5% when the market had an awful day. I could see no news on that on the websites I check. Any reason for that? How would you rank these five for growth prospects over the next several years and are there any red flags or undue risks for any so that you would avoid that company?

Thanks again,
Dave

Q: I realize I am veering off course here, but would appreciate if you could rate the following US stocks from a growth perspective. The time frame would be 5 to 8 years - best to worst. Feel free to add if you wish. Thank you.

Q: Hi Peter,

I'd like your opinion of these US stocks based on the data available to you.

Could you name three other high-growth US stocks that pique your interest at current levels?

Q: I have been out of the loop on financial news for the past six months or so, and so am a bit unfocused on current news.

What are your thoughts on adding NVDA at this time (to appropriate weighting, etc.)? [I reviewed some Q&A on it, but am not clear as to why the latest downdraft on this company is occurring. Perhaps I didn't go back far enough.] If this is not a solid pick at this time, would you please suggest your favourite in the sector, for a 5% position? Canadian or US -- I have no preference, other than it be Tech. Thanks!

Q: Hi 5i,

What would be your top 10 names for a U.S. growthy balanced portfolio?

TIA

Q: Target allocation to Tech is up to 17%. Currently, of that amount, I have V at 34% of the sector [less than 6% of total portfolio], GIB at 22%, and the rest as follows: CSU 8%, MSFT and SHOP at 7% each, DOCU at 5%, leaving about less than 20% for investment [could go to 25% if sell DOCU].
My watchlist is broken down into;
a) Tech equipment: SPLK, SNPS, KEYS, NVDA;
b) software: KXS, TTD, TEAM.
Of course, there are so many others that you have recommended.
So, please advise on narrowing the list - building on my current holdings or otherwise.

Q: I've finally decided to look at investing in some US stocks. Would you be able to suggest a couple of US growth stocks that have some stability and growth potential over the next few years? Thanks.

Q: I've noticed that despite the tech meltdown recently, some have held up quite well such as RPD (Rapid 7). I found this a bit surprising given that the company was smaller than others such as NVDA.

Is the relative strength a positive sign? Are there other notable tech companies with positive relative strength vs peers? Thanks!
