Q: RCH has come down lately after a good run since the summer. What are your thoughts on the company’s prospects going forward and do you think now is a good time to step in for a long-term hold.? Or, are there other more interesting cdn industrials? Thank you.

Q: Hi guys,

I look to hold companies that are able to maintain a reasonable ROE despite being debt-free. Some of the companies that I currently hold that meet this criteria are ENGH, TOY, CSU (pretty close), RCH, VCI (very small cap).

Can you suggest 5-10 more debt-free companies that screen well to you guys?

Q: With the recent volatility, several companies on my watchlist have seen their multiples fall to more reasonable levels compared to the last 2-3 years. In the current climate, I find low debt, strong management and overall quality to be more important than ever.

Considering these criteria, RCH, ADW.A and SJ are starting to stand out. The main issue I have is, growth might not be as high/steady as it was in previous years, so in the end they might not be that much of a bargain; maybe they are just more fairly valued, not "mispriced".

What would be your take on this? Is a 15-16 forward P\E for 8-10 % EPS growth and overall quality a reasonable price to pay? Or is this a case by case basis? What are the main points of reference, aside from industry, competition, company history, etc.?

I understand there are many other factors, but still, am trying to get my head around valuation. Thank you!

Q: What do think of buying RCH as a potential tax-loss play?
It seems to have good fundamentals but maybe some headwinds from US trade uncertainty and housing market slowdown.

Q: I own MG and MTY in consumer cyclicals and contemplating adding another name among GIL, RCH, ZZZ or CTC.A. Please order them from best to worst as a solid complement to the two I already have, as part of an RRSP account with a 15+ years time frame. Please give a brief rationale and suggest another company if there is an obvious better choice. I note that the stock value of RCH is surprisingly stable on multi-year charts for a c. cyclical.

RCH has moved up nicely, presumably in anticipation of recent earnings. Can you please comment on their numbers and provide thoughts on the company going forward. You have considered it to be somewhat expensive in the past and wondered if this is still the case. I own it and plan to hold. Would you agree?
