Q: Hi,
Some months ago I had asked about non correlated assets and you mentioned Private Equity as an option and chose these stocks. (Also your perennial favourite BN!) I have half a position in BN and plan to add more soon.

Among the 3 (BX/KKR,BLK) which two are your favourite and why? Or you can rank order them from the best to your least favorite.

Q: I hold both BX and BN at almost full positions. I am considering selling BX to purchase WPC to increase my dividend income and hopefully benefit from rising property prices. Are BX and BN similar enough that this strategy makes sense or would I be just as well off staying the course?

Appreciate your insight.

Q: Blackstone reported earnings last week. What's your assessment and how will the results impact your opinion of the stock going forward. You've liked it in the past and recommended it as a buy, any change? Thanks.

Q: Last week we sold BN and BIPC (U.S. $) for tax loss. Since almost everything will be in decline over the next few weeks, do you suggest we leave the money in cash or buy another stock or stock which we could sell at a (probable) further loss to rebuy the original two? Could you suggest a couple of U.S. candidates please?
Thank you

Q: Dear Peter and team,

Thank you for answering my question earlier about non-correlated assets. Very clear and helpful. For Private equity you had chosen BX as an option (also VXX) and every subscriber knows how much you like BN/BAM :) (I must say that I am tickled by the number of folks in both print and TV media, not just you, are enamored with Mr. Bruce Flatt. A true Bromance!!)

My question is how come not many mention anything about similar European Private equities firms which are publicly traded. Google search yielded CVC capital, EQT, Ardian, Apax...

Which PE firm from the EU would you consider as a reasonable complement for BX/BLK/BAM . Feel free to add any other PE firm that you think has potential.
Many thanks in advance.

Q: As a curiosity I thought it would be interesting to compare these two, noting they seem to be competitors in many ways. Frankly bit looks like Blackstone trounces Brookfield on stock performance over almost every time length. Do you have any thoughts on comparing the two and Blackstone’s value as a financial alternative asset holder?

Q: Hello,

I'm hoping you might be able to steer me towards several suitable, longer term, investments.

If you were assembling a portfolio of equity investments today, from which you REQUIRED an overall average yield of at least 4%, with a further need for that yield to either keep pace with or to outpace the rate of inflation in coming years; which 5 Canadian and which 5 USA equities would you select to include within your portfolio?

1) Independent of any consideration of a desire for diversity of sector?

2) If diversity were to be considered to be of importance?

Please deduct as many question credits as you feel may be appropriate.

Thank you!

Q: I would appreciate getting your five recommendation each for US and CAD markets of companies with growing dividends for at least for the last five years with current dividend above 3% that also have growth.

Q: Hi All at 5i!!
I was reading an article in the National Post by Barbara Shecter and it made me a little uneasy. The article was about Shadow Banking and its potential risks. She mentioned Blackstone and Brookfield. My question... I own both, but I am more concerned about Blackstone and its exposure to poor corporate loans and office real estate , among other things it dabbles in. I am up in the stock and wondering if I should take a profit. Is the company in for some trouble ?
Thanks,
Tamara

Q: I am looking for a couple of US dividend-paying companies that provide decent yields for retirement income. Several of the companies that you have suggested are providing growing dividends and some equity growth but the yields are low. I am currently looking at AMGN, BX and EXR. I am leaning towards BX as I think property could be poised for growth but I am concerned that the dividend seems to jump around. Were special dividends paid in the past few years or has the payout been negatively affected by declining rental income?

Which of the three would you prefer given the desire for increased income, stability of income, future dividend growth and some equity growth? (or are there other suggestion you may have)

Appreciate your insight.

Q: I have been holding qcom for over 3 years and i am up about 100% now i would like to trim it a bit because lately it is not performing as well. If i purchase bx because the dividends are a little better, which one of these companies would you believe that would have a better upside in the next 2 to 3 years from now.

Q: With all the volatility we are seeing, I am looking at trading a few stocks so I would like a few suggestions from you. These should be names I wouldn't have a problem holding if the trades don't work out. Both US and Canada. Thank you in advance.

Q: Hello Peter,

How would you trade the collapse of SVB? Banks and Financial companies are taking a hit. Is it time to buy? If yes, what would you prefer- BAC,MS, BX? Or none of the above.
Do you think there is a contagion risk here?
Regards.

Q: Hi Guys
Can you list a few U.S. stocks with attractive Free cash flow Yields ( using EV instead of MCAP) preferably with stable cash flows, that trade at attractive Forward P/E ratios.
Looking also for a decent dividend. I was pondering IBM, their interest coverage looks decent, but their Total Debt/EBITDA looks a bit high at 4.0x
Thanks Gord
