Hammond Power Solutions Inc. Class A Subordinate Voting Shares (HPS.A $197.59)
-
Hammond Manufacturing Company Limited Class A Subordinate Voting Shares (HMM.A $10.35)
Q: The Hammond Companies based in Guelph are producing astounding numbers yet HMM.A is far behind in stock market valuation with a projected P/E of 3 to 4. Why is there a discrepancy between the two companies.

Hammond Power Solutions Inc. Class A Subordinate Voting Shares (HPS.A $197.59)
Q: Hi 5i
With the recent quarterly release I see that HPS continues to do well.
I'm just curious as to how they compare to their competition in this space?
Are there larger or smaller companies that are doing equally as well and therefore also worth looking at?
Or is this somewhat of a moat business?
Thanks!

Q: These 9 companies are the holdings in a growth oriented Canadian TFSA. The intent was for them to be long-term holds. However, NVEI, ILLM and LSPD are all down over 50% and some so rejigging is being considered.
Would you consider any of them to be a SELL?
Of the 9, which 2 would you be least inclined to keep in the portfolio and why? Please suggest potential replacements.
Please rate (1-10) the remaining 7 for additional money today.
Thank you,
Peter.

Hammond Power Solutions Inc. Class A Subordinate Voting Shares (HPS.A $197.59)
Q: ATZ, DND, TIXT, WN.PR.D Gentlemen: The above four securities have been very disappointing for me. I have held them for some time with little change. I could hold them longer, as they are in my RIF, but I wonder if the funds might do better elsewhere.
Q: What are the Q2 expectations for tomorrow? Scotiabank (powered by TR) indicates EPS 84cents and $123M based on 3 analysts' reports. Market was taking profits on HPS today and I get the feeling that some high expectations are baked into the current price.

Q: hello 5i:
6 months ago, earnings estimates for year ending December 2024 were 3.21. Today, via Fastgraphs, I see 4.51. This seems to be a very large jump in estimates in a very short time. Can you explain why? And, using a PE or approximately 10, I calculate a fair value of around $45. Would you agree?
thanks

ATS Corporation (ATS $40.79)
-
Hammond Power Solutions Inc. Class A Subordinate Voting Shares (HPS.A $197.59)
Q: hello 5i:
I am interested in the above companies, but feel both are overvalued at present. Technically, HPS appears to have a "blowoff" topping pattern while ATS is consolodating. Fundamentally, both look a little stretched as far as PE, P/CF go. The subject of growth, of course, will define future gains. From past answers, you like ATS "better" than HPS.
First, can you confirm the above deductions and do a head to head comparison of the two. Second, where do you see future growth for both, and why. HPS actually looks to have the upper hand due to the "relectrification" theme as their products might attract a larger global audience. Third, can you provide what you feel are good entry points. Thanks for this comparison as there are only funds to buy one.

Q: Over the last 30 years my best investments by far have been with smallish to medium sized profitable businesses with good long term growth prospects that I have bought and held for 10+ years. Generally market caps of roughly $500 million Cdn. to around $5 billion Cdn. A few have generated 20, 30 times my initial cost. I am wondering about the prospects of each of these following companies producing those kind of multi-bagger returns over the next 10 or 20 years. Would you please rank these companies in order from 1 to 13 according to the likelihood that they will become another CSU, BYD, WSP, TFII, etc. that can be a big, big winner for a long term investor: ATS, ATZ, DOO, EQB, GSY, HPS.A, KXS, LMN, NVEI, TIXT, TOI, TSU, WELL. Admittedly, TOI is a little big at $8 billion market cap.
Secondly, are there any other Cdn stocks in this size range that you would say have that kind of big upside potential, and where would you place them in comparison to the above listed companies.

Q: My electrification theme has done remarkably well lately, in fairness I have owned HPS.a for many years, but now what?? They each appear to shifting from value plays to growth plays and while my gut says to take profits my brain says the trend is your friend and hold until growth plateaus. Would appreciate your opinion on the three of them and my favourable dilemma.
