Q: Concerning limited partnerships like Energy Transfer , your suggested this lately: "there is withholding tax on distributions plus a 10% tax on proceeds from dispositions. In addition, there are multiple US forms that need to be filled out’".I do own the ETF AMLP in my RRSP ,and just received the dividend : there was no witholding tax or any other taxation , and the dividend did match exactly what is announced.Any explanation, plus are there forms to be filled out ?

Q: HI GUYS
Just noticed when i printed out my T5 summary of the AMLP ETF it lists the distributions paid on the 1st line as Return of Capital. I would have thought it would be listed on the 3rd line as Foreign Income.
Just wondering if you guys happen to know if i need to enter this on my tax return. After looking around on Intuit turbotax, all i could find was maybe report it as Foreign Income, but even under foreign income, there is no place for "return of Capital"
Thanks Gord

Q: Is AMLP a buy for a RRSP account ? Thanks for this great service.
Q: I am interested in energy infrastructure ETF, preferably, trading in the US. This would include any energy pipeline ETF. The two I know are MLPX and AMLP. Any preference between these two ? Any others that you recommend in this space?
Thanks kindly.
Thanks kindly.
Q: Would you please provide your comments/thoughts on this Limited Partnership ETF. The yield is quite attractive and it seems to contain some quality names. Additionally, could you please provide some insight as to what the tax implications would be, if kept in an RRSP.
Thanks,
David
Thanks,

Q: Larry Berman likes this pick for the 8% yield and the “explosion” of pipelines in the US. Do you have an opinion and would it be appropriate for an RRSP?
Q: What are the prospects for recovery and is the present discount justified?
Q: I note that Trans Canada has introduced significant pricing concessions/incentive/reductions and while AMLP operates in the USA I wondered if this was the beginning of an industry trend. Thank you for your previous reply to me on this equity. Thanks
Q: Alerion appears to have begun recovery from an extended down trend with what looks like significant accumulation. However, doubts have been raised with respect to volumes for transport in part related product price and demand issues. Do you have an opinion on this issue and AMLP prospects please.
