Q: Hello Peter and staff:
Each of the above mentioned have incredible yields, that pay monthly dividends - CBNK - 9.78%, EIT.UN - 8.74%, DFN - 22.94%. Could you comment on each of the 3 in terms of sustainability and could you rate them in order of preference, or not at all. Could you also recommend other high yield monthly dividend paying stocks. Thank you all for your incredible service.

Q: Dear 5i Team,

As the holiday season approaches, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the outstanding service your team has consistently provided. Your expertise and dedication have been invaluable.

Considering the current financial climate where interest rates seem to be stabilizing or decreasing, I'm contemplating whether it's an opportune time to invest in split shares mostly for dividends for 1 to 3 years hold. Do you see any issues? if not would you recommend top 2 split shares in Canada.

Q: I have these stocks in my TFSA and most are doing okay. I have some extra cash to use to either beef up or buy another stock or ETF. I’m an income investor with also an interest in growth. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I appreciate your work immensely.

Q: This is my selection of stocks for steady revenue (and secondarily potential growth) .Since a serious economic crisis is not excluded in my opinion ,I now plan to : 1) only keep Cies at low risk to become out of business and that should maintain dividends, based on their history and financial strength , and to : 2) sell the other stocks to buy ETF instead..

Wich stocks can be "relatively safely" kept at long term for this purpose ?

Q: I am a 60+ retired income investor,

I consider the above noted equities to be my riskiest holdings.

About 1,000 each - mostly in my cash account.

I understand SYZ reduced its dividend today and of course the issues with AQN.

Still up on AQN. Underwater on all the rest.

Looking for some advice - sell or hold by holding?

And of course any general comments would be appreciated.

Thanks very much.

Q: Hi 5i,
There are two symbols for dividend 15 split core they show up as DFN and DF .... DF pays a higher dividend. Could you explain the difference between the two and if there is a difference or advantage of one over the other.
How do you see their dividend going forward. I am looking for relatively safe income for a small position.

Any other suggestion in this category

Thanks
Jim

Q: For the past 4 years or so, DFN fund management has increased the share count via bought deal, two times a year. While it should not matter in DFN's case because of it's business model, each share increase has caused the stock to tumble. It then creeps slowly upwards until the next increase causes it to tumble again. Some months ago DFN announced the "At-The-Market Equity Program" is renewed.

What does "At-The-Market Equity Program" mean? Presumably it also means they can still do large bought deals when the price is high, just that it won't be as predictable as the past years spring and fall issuance..?

Thanks for the ongoing great service.

Q: With the recent drop in prices, are any of the above attractive for dividends and price appreciation?

Q: Hi 5i:

Can the Price to Earnings ratio (P/E) be used to determine the valuation of these yield plays or should I be looking at the Net Asset Value (NAV) instead?

Using P/E they rank cheapest to most expensive as: DFN, FIE, ZWC and EIT.UN. Is that accurate and if not, how would you rank them, cheapest to most expensive?

Thanks in advance,
Greg.
