Q: Hello team,

I'm considering selling Apple at a large profit and deploying elsewhere.
I want to offset some gains with some losses.
Losers in order are:
DRX
SGY
BCE (small amount held in my non-reg)
Selling all is fine with me so I can balance out my Apple gains. What do you think about selling these names and what are a couple of your favourite US and CAD stock for new money?

Q: Hi. My wife and I are in the process of rebalancing our portfolio. We're in our 70s and our portfolio has treated us well. Unfortunately our winners have grown to create a portfolio that is now 70% tech and 30% cash.

We'd like to bring our Nvidia and Apple holdings from just over 20% for each to around 10 or 12%.

Where would you reinvest the proceeds of the sale outside of the tech sector?
What 5 top US companies and 5 Canadian companies would be your favourites and why?

Q: My overall Industrial weighting is fairly bang on with SIS, TFI, WSP, and a US industrial ETF.

I have been looking at TVK. Would it make sense to trim WSP at 4.59% of total portfolio down and add TVK?

WSP has been a great and I assume safer, but I can see trimming it down to 3% and adding TVK?

Q: Hi,

Currently managing my parents investments. Apparently they have gotten wind of Bitcoin. They have asked me to take a flyer on some. That being said, if one were to buy it, would you prefer Galaxy?

Secondly, for a retired person's investment strategy, who would like a little tourque in their account, what 3 names would you suggest from either the gorwth or balance portfolio, to add to their account. Note, currently they have the majority of their investments in income related securitiies.

Q: I've been considering buying TVK for some time. One of the things holding me back is the potential of a Trump victory and the subsequent imposition of 20% across the board import tarrifs. Given the resource industries that TVK supports, what impact on share price would you predict such tarrifs would have? Would you suggest prospective buyers of TVK wait until after the election to wade in?

Q: Greetings 5i team,
I hold these seven companies in my TFSA in roughly equal amounts. I would like to add WELL to my TFSA. Would it be wise to shave a bit from all of the companies listed in order to do so?
Or, do you see a better solution to achieve this (ie. SELL one / two of the other positions in favour of WELL)?

Q: Regardless of sector, please suggest 5 or so each Cdn and US holdings that would expect to average an 8%+ return per year including dividend and capital appreciation (can be company or ETF, but for ETF should consider fee) for 10 year hold. Thank-you!

Q: Hello, and thank you for an informative service. In theory, what are your views on adding to a so-called expensive/highly valued stock when your original cost basis is quite low? For example, I keep reading how Dollarama is at a high premium right now. I have a lot of it, and my original cost basis is about $97. Even adding a couple thousand dollars would keep it at something like $97.50. as a general rule or idea, is it worth building on positions like this? Also, I don't know if this would be considered a second question, but if you could rank the five stocks in order to purchase today keeping in mind my original question, that would be much appreciated. Q: On Sept 11, Otex announced it has received authorization for the OpenText IT Management Platform (ITMX) from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) (https://finance.yahoo.com/news/opentext-management-platform-achieves-fedramp-142600427.html ) .

You mentioned before that OTEX may need time to integrate previous M/A. With the FEDRAMP approval, would it be a buy now? Or would you consider stronger stocks to be better total returns over the next 3-4 years? Please rank the attached companies (knowing that they're all very different).

Q: Hi 5i team,

What would be your current 5 best (highest conviction) buys in each of the following categories please.
1. small cap
2. mid cap
Hold target is 3-10 years or longer.
I prefer these categories as they seem to have the most torque (in the right environment) albeit also the most risk.
