Q: My percentage market allocation presently in Altus, Kinaxis, and Open Text are 4.41%, 7.38%, and 3.85% respectively. Perhaps I'm top heavy in Tech stocks, though I plan to boost OTEX to a full position down the road. Would it make sense to sell AIF and replace it with either GUD or CRH since I hold no medical stocks at this time? You have helped my analytical skills tremendously, though I'm not good as digesting financial statements.

Thanks for this and keep up the good work.

Q: I currently receive an indexed pension which covers my living expenses and related costs. I also have an RRSP and other investments. My question is regarding my TFSA. Regardless of sector allocation what would your top 5 picks be today?
Also at what monetary value would you add additional holdings or would you just rebalance your winners? Example $$50,000 5 stocks, $100,000 8 stocks?
Please deduct as many credits as you see fit.

Q: Your report on Altus Group stated “One of the noteworthy risks at AIF is that 42% of the Canadian cost practice is from rental and condominiums in the multi-residential segment. Impairment in this sector could hurt the Canadian revenues as could a general decline in the Canadian housing markets.”
I would have thought that their revenues in this segment would depend more on sales volume as opposed to actual housing prices. Can you please comment on this. Essentially, if an investor believes that housing prices (condos in particular) will decline but turnover will remain strong, would this negate any of the declining revenue risk outlined in your report?

Q: Hi 5i

Have you noticed a '5i Effect'? As an example AIF was at 29.77 Janary 25 and you announced addition to BE portfolio Jan 26. Since then it has gained 9%. I noticed similar reaction on TOY.
Is your subscriber base large enough that we move stocks when you recommend them? Or is it just good timing on your part?

Thanks again

Q: Hi, Both Cirus Energy and Altus Group have moved up nicely 5-6%, since addition to your portfolios. I guess, I should have added to my portfolio at the same time, instead of hoping for a lower entry point. Are these companies still a good buy at current levels ? How have been these co's earning trends in past (surprises, lumpiness) and is it worth waiting to buy around earnings ? Thanks

Q: The TSX identifies AIF as technology and KWH as utility. I'd be inclined to categorize AIF as Real Estate, as it seems it might move more in line with that sector. I can understand KWH as a utility, though it might also be considered energy. Can you give me your thoughts on the sectors; would you stick with the TSX?

Thank you.

Q: Hi 5i team,
I have just read your report. One of their investments (Real Matters) is supposed to do its IPO over the next few months. February was even floated around recently. Following the start of your coverage of AIF (very happy about that), what is your main assumption about their investment in Real Matters. Sell their shares in the IPO, sell a prorated portion of their shares, distribute the shares to their current shareholders, keep their shares, increase ownership? What % would give to each of these scenarios? Any other possibilities? Thank you, Eric

Q: Following your balanced equity portfolio. I have read some questions you answered recently. Besides SIS, Premium Brands and KXS which other 2 or 3 equities do you expect higher returns in the next couple years. Thank you as always for your advice. Steve

Q: With reference to Antoine's question.
I am a real estate developer and can assure you that Altus is primarily a real estate services company. I have used them for many years and know them well.
I will leave it to 5i to analyze the stock but I might add also that the company, in Canada at least, is well run and well regarded. As a developer there are many studies required to get gov't approvals and Altus is a go-to name for many big players. Their fortunes will surely rise and fall with the real estate market (specifically develoment) generally.
Hope that is helpful

John
