Q: I know 5i is not a big fan of KPT (KP Tissue). I owned a few years ago when I good dividend was hard to find and got out of it with a small capital gain. I have been watching it slide down to $9 per share which makes the dividend close to 8 per cent again. The third quarter presentation of the parent company, Kruger products, showed that debt is getting paid down, margins are up especially size the price of pulp is down. Next year's capex is guided to be slightly less than last year including the investment in their new Sherbrooke plant. If KPT could sustain the dividend with higher pulp prices, higher trucking costs, and lower prices for the products they sell then surely the dividend must be safe. I already bought a little at $9. Should I add some more and if the answer is no can you tell me why?

Q: I have very little exposure to staples and industrials in my portfolio, which is mainly composed of ETFs. What do you think of these companies, which are all rated outperform by RBC? Is KPT a good proxy for staples? If not, what would you suggest? Please rate the other three in the industrials category in order of preference. Thank you.

Q: Stock screeners. Could you suggest web sites with a great stock screener tool - free or paid?

Failing that could you list Canadian companies that currently pay a dividend above 2.75 % and have no debt?

Q: The three stocks I’m considering selling are the above. I’m curious about kpt especially the fundamentals as when it was recommended by the Globe that was one of its selling points. It had dropped a lot even before the market correction.
For us stocks I wonder about jnj, pg and wba.

Thanks rose

Q: Hello
I just read about the tariffs applied to P&G more specifically the toilet paper they sell here in Canada.

I assume that if P&G up the price of Charmen TP in Canada then KPT will follow and hike the price of its Casmere TP. Thus increasing their margins.

Do you think this development is ''material''for KPT?

Thanks
Stephane

Q: I will be retiring at the end of the year.
My theory is that inflation is about to rise at a quicker rate than it has recently.
The listed securities are in my portfolio and are hurt by rising interest rates.
Which ones would you suggest that I lighten up on.
Which ones would be a hold.
