Q: Concerning limited partnerships like Energy Transfer , your suggested this lately: "there is withholding tax on distributions plus a 10% tax on proceeds from dispositions. In addition, there are multiple US forms that need to be filled out’".I do own the ETF AMLP in my RRSP ,and just received the dividend : there was no witholding tax or any other taxation , and the dividend did match exactly what is announced.Any explanation, plus are there forms to be filled out ?

Q: LPs are Taxed heavily in Canada, but is that true if bought in a RRSP or RRIF? Thanks
- Altria Group Inc. (MO)
- Philip Morris International Inc (PM)
- Energy Transfer LP (ET)
- British American Tobacco p.l.c. (BTI)
Q: Hi, I want to add a high dividend stock to my USD portfolio. Do you have any suggestions?
- Kinder Morgan Inc. (KMI)
- ONEOK Inc. (OKE)
- Williams Companies Inc. (The) (WMB)
- Energy Transfer LP (ET)

- Cheniere Energy Inc. (LNG)
Q: Hello 5i Team
Could you please review the three listed US Oil & Gas midstream companies which are not MLPs?
Please rank in order which would be the best company(s) for allocation of capital.
Are there any other US C-Corporation midstream companies which I should be reviewing?
These would be held in a US dollar denominated RRSP account for long term growth and income.
Thank you

Q: How would you rank these and why?
thanks!
thanks!
Q: How are dividends from midstream companies like ET, WMB treated if held in a registered account? Is there a withholding tax still applied as when held in a non-registered account?
Q: While I know you are not tax experts, but if a Canadain receives a dividend from ET, is it subject to weithholding tax by US authorities? If so, what is the percentage withheld and is it more beneficial to hold the stock in TFSA or in a taxable account. Thanks
Q: Below is an email from Interactive Brokers.
"As a result of recent US legislation under Internal Revenue Code Section 1446(f), gross proceeds from sales of and certain distributions from Publicly Traded Partnerships ("PTPs") held by non-US tax residents (both individuals and entities) will be subject to 10% withholding starting on January 1, 2023."
It is not clear to me that the 10% withholding tax is on the distributions only or 10 % tax will also be applicable to the total proceeds amount when I sell it ?
The company involved in my case is ET but can also be applicable to other publicly traded partnerships.
Thanks for looking into this.

Q: There is a sell bias. All of the volume trades are pushing the price down. I cannot see why they are so intent? Any opinion ?
Q: On February 1 2022, ET:us was added to RBC-Capital’s “ Global Energy Best Ideas”. ALA:ca is also on that list (ENB:us is not). Do you agree with this call or are you lukewarm and colder? Ratios: I am getting widely different numbers on FORWARD P/E , PEG, ROE, ROCI. Although I am referring to premium sites, the data is widely divergent. What do you have for each of the above ratios please?
Q: What caused Energy Transfer stock price to fall today? Whatever it was do you see it as a red flag?
Q: its been a while since you've been asked about ET. What's your thinking on this. The dividend looks too good to be true but so does that of ENB, in which I have a full Cdn position, Many thanks, as always. Good to have a reliable guide these days. al
- Coca-Cola Company (The) (KO)
- Procter & Gamble Company (The) (PG)
- Energy Transfer LP (ET)
- Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP Limited Partnership Units (BIP)
Q: I "discovered" today that ET dividend was reduced of 37% in my RRSP since it is a US LP (limited partnership). Is BIP " LP" In my RRSP taxed the same way ? I guess and hope not, since it is not a "US LP" .I sold ET to Buy KO+PG instead ,at least no more tax on dividends and more stability ! thanks all for points of vue .
Q: Could I please have your view on ET. (US) Is this good for a long term hold? Will it ever get back in favor? Is there better places to be? Thanks in advance. Appreciate your inpu.t.
Q: I hold ET in a registered account, and as it is a MLP I've had non-resident taxes withheld from dividends. They have indicated that they will likely convert to a c-corporation, and I'm wondering how that would affect the withholding tax on distributions, and if that would automatically mean a lower distribution.
Q: I have been looking at this company, and can't understand the steep discount on its share prices. I understand the Dakota Access Pipeline issues, and the fact that "energy companies" are generally in disfavour, but the cash flow looks solid and rateable, and debt levels are high, but sustainable and interest rates are lower, not higher, so debt levels look not so bad. What am I missing here??? Am I glossing over some risks???
Q: May I have your opinion of this stock for a longer term investment. Thank you.cheers
Q: Do you recommend any US Energy Structure MLP's for long-term income and some safety? If so, which ones and why?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: Is this an excellent company to invest in
