Q: You recently provided the short position on chesswood “813,000 shares; 7% of the share float.”
As well it seems the short position question comes up with some regularity.
Can you provide some insight how as an investor I should interpret short positions.
For example I have no idea if chesswoods short position is good, bad or neutral.
Thanks John

Q: Hi guys , I saw a recent report that Chw was in the the top ten shorted Cdn stocks with 795000 shares short. This is apparently 8.9 % of the public float. I guess the high percentage is due to insider and other significant holders? What may be the thesis behind the dreaded short sellers position? Is Canada just a target in general? Thanks man

I would appreciate it if you could give me your opinion on Chesswood Group Ltd. Could you please comment on :

it's overall financial stability and growth prospects,
level of debts,
payout ratio,
robustness and sustainability of it's dividend,
rate of dividend growth,
level of insider ownership,
and how likely it is to do in a major market downturn.

How would you compare it to other companies in the same line of business and what would these be?

Would you recommend Chesswood for an income portfolio for a retiree and how large a position would you think prudent?

I see some insider sales recently in the $12.40 range and a lot of share buybacks in the $10.60 to $10.96 range. Does this mean the company thinks the shares are overvalued at present?

Thank you............. Paul K.
