Q: India-I would like to broaden my investments internationally and am drawn to growth in India. The Fairfax option is less desireable to me because the units are (I believe) sold in U.S. Dollars. a)Are there any investment vehicles that you would recommend? and b) any with dividends?

Q: I have about $10,000 I would like to get some non-U.S., foreign exposure with. Maybe an ETF or 2, a dividend would be great but not if it takes away all the growth. Would you recommend China, India or Europe? I know it will limit my choices but I would like to purchase it in Canadian dollars. Thank you so much :-)
Q: Hello 5i Team,
For international emerging market exposure, I hold some funds in the Ishares India Index ETF, which has been brutalized of late, (along with other emerging market equities). I'm slightly above water on this holding at the moment, but the trend line is down. Do you think there is decent chance of recovery in the medium term, or is it time to bail. Thanks.

Q: Disregarding the yield, would you buy the 2 country-specific ETFs or stick with the international ETF. I understand this is an apples vs. oranges type of question. Over a longer term, would there be a growth advantage with ZCH and XID over ZDI. Thank you.

Q: Hi Peter et al:
I am looking to invest some money in India. The two etf's that I was able to find are xid and zid. I am looking for mid to large cap value, however BMO states that zid is growth oriented and high risk. I am a subscriber to your etf branch but I couldn't find what I needed there. Also what would you recommend for etf exposure to Europe and the Euro, which I believe will appreciate relative to the cad.
Thanks,
BEN.

Q: Hi Peter,
In a well diversified portfolio, which India fund would you hold (from the list above or another) ? Why is FIH/U currently agging the others ? We already own FFH; Is buying FIH/U as well too much Fairfax ?
Thank you, Paul

Q: I would like your recommendation on ETF's or funds that would focus on Japan and India, preferably larger cap holdings. One or more recommendations is fine but I do want a Canadian dollar traded product as I don't want to get into the costs incurred with exchanging CDN to US.
Thanks for the sensible and steady advice you folks provide! Rob

Q: Can you please list a handful of ETFs with >50% exposure to India. Can you please give me your take on the prospects for these ETFs (and India) over the next 5-10 years. Is hedging against currency important to consider?
Q: can you tell me the best Canadian and/or US ETF India Funds thanks Paul
Q: I have looked at investing directly in India via ETF'S.
I have identified two, ZID or XID, which would you prefer, or perhaps an alternative.
Or would it be better to do so using a general emerging markets ETF like VEE?

Q: I'm considering an investment in India. What do you think about a long-term (5+ years) in that country? Capital gains are my primary interest. How should I invest there - Fairfax India (FTD.UN), Excel India Growth & Income Fund, INDY or XID? Do you have other suggestions for that market?

Q: What do you recommend is the best way of gaining exposure to the Indian stock market? In the past I have purchased Excel India mutual fund and I am considering Fairfax Indian fund. I am a long term investor and plan to hold my position for at least 5 years. I welcome your comments.
