Q: Looking to add some longer duration bonds with inflation and interest rates dropping. You think this is a good move. Already own lpay, zst and cbil and looking for diversification, any other suggestions are welcome.
Thanks and have a great day.

Thanks

Q: Hi,

What are your thoughts about my current portfolio? I am also looking at adding ZRE.TO and ZWC.TO.

Appreciate your help.

Q: There were a couple of questions today on BMO's ZCS. Both your replies suggested not too much concern holding the short term corporates over a longer period of time. Do you have differing thoughts on ZCM and ZLC? BBB rated bonds in ZCS, ZCM, ZLC are 36%, 58%, and 39% respectively.

Also of note all three seem to have a large discount to NAV. Yesterday between 4.3 to 5.5% (ZLC being the highest). Not sure that is normal, or not, as I don't look that closely and BMO doesn't appear to post the info.

Thanks

Q: Hi, I do not have any bonds or fixed income. Looking for one or two prospects to start, with about $50,000 to invest. Would like 3-4%+income. What are your views on the above, and of course any other you may suggest. Would like one size fits all if possible.
Also in a possible 30% downturn in the market , how much would a bond etf cushion the blow?
Thanks

Q: Please rate these as BUY; HOLD; or IGNORE. My purpose, of course, is market down turn protection.

Q: Hi Peter,
These long bond etf (ZLC, XLB, ZFL) have done very well with YTD total return of 10.48, 10.35 and 8.91 respectively
Why have they done so well?
Is it too late to consider them for RRIF income investment going forward? If so, which one do you recommend, thanks
