Q: My husband has some old capital losses that I think we should start to be using now in the event of any possible future rule changes. He has a 10 position unregistered account in which there are 3 equities with substantial gains from 125% to 1350%, i.e.: WSP, ENGH and CJT.
There are 2 equities with 50% and 70% gain, i.e. SYZ and WPM and 1 equity with 35% gain, i.e. KXS. The remaining 4 have small profit or loss, i.e. CAE, MCR, CCL.B, PBH.
Looking at selling WSP, ENGH, CJT, SYZ ,WPM and perhaps KXS to apply some of the old losses. What would you recommend to buy for replacement (a 1st and 2nd choice if you could) and would you move back into the original equity after 30 days or would you just stick with the replacement ? A dividend would be nice but not mandatory. Also, any thoughts on timing considerations or other issues ? We have diversified RIFs and TFSAs in addition to the above.
Many thanks.
Q: I've happily held CJT for years and trimmed when it gets close to 5% which it is now nearing again. The chart is looking a bit scary, but with the Amazon deal , would you let it ride higher than 5% as part of the 'growth' portion of a balanced portfolio ?
Thanks, as always, for your opinon.
Q: Can I please have your thoughts and analysis on Cargo jets recently announced earnings. Would you recommend adding to one's portfolio at this time. Thank You.
Q: I have sold a security and have cash to invest. Can I have your thoughts on Cargojet and Waste Connection. Which of the two do you see as the better investment? Thank You.
Q: Morning fellas:
I got back into this name at 90 or so . Now the surge, would it be wise to buy more at its current price at 101 and change.
Thx for your great work
Mark
Q: Hello 5i...could you please comment on Amazon warrents deal with Cargojet. Do you see Amazon eventually take controlling interest in Cargojet. Will this be moving Cargojet stock price and would you considering taking an increased position on this news?
Q: Hi Could you please comment on company's earnings. There has been talk of company benefitting from Amazon's same day delivery plans and it being sort of a monopoly in Canadian market. Are you comfortbale with taking a small position ? Thanks
Q: What seems to be the reason with CJT falling share price of late? I'm still in the money but not for long if the free fall in SP continues. Would you recommend sell now to lock in the diminishing gain and perhaps buy back later. Thanks.
Q: Dear Sirs,
Looking for your opinion on the most recent Cargojet 5.75% April/2025 debentures- looks to be priced at a higher spread than their last issuance ?
Thank you for your insights.
Q: CJT: I have an unrealized gain of 996%, yes, 996%. I bought it at $7.70 and it's currently at $84.40. Most of your comments are positive about this company, except regarding the debt level. Do you see any issues or concerns to continue holding this stock for years to come? In a case like this massive gain, it is better to take at least some profits?
Q: I've done very well holding Cargojet for the last 5 years. However, I just read the CFRA, QUANTITATIVE STOCK REPORT dated March 01, 2019. and it rates this stock as a SELL. Further, the report states: " TSX: CJT's SELL recommendation is based on its score from CFRA's quantitative model for Canada." Is there any cause for concern? Is this due to their debt load?
Q: I like the behavior of the shares of this company and have considered a small position. Considering a partial sale of TOY (loss position) to purchase. Your thoughts please.
Q: I HAVE CONSTELLATION CSU.DB AND AM LOOKING FOR ANOTHER DEBENTURE. YOU HAVE RECOMMENDED CJT.DB IN THE PAST. OF CJT AND CHR WHICH IS YOUR PREFERENCE. ANY OTHER DEBENTURE YOU MAY CONSIDER TO BE WORTHY WOULD BE WELCOME. THANKS
