Q: Since buying in January this one has just gone down, why would someone continue to hold on. With toppy markets I don't see any catalyst that will drive it back higher.

Helios Fairfax Partners Corp Com Sub Vtg (HFPC.U:CA)
Q: Hi Peter/Ryan, I already own FAH.U and FIH.U. FAH is 7% below their latest financing price while FIH.U is steady with no major movement in 2018. Do you think it is good to add both for long term growth?

Q: Could I please have your opinion on the following stocks: American Tower Corp (AMT), Cognex Corp (CGNX), Comcast Corp (CMCSA), Corning Inc (GLW), Qualcomm (QCOM), ServiceNow (NOW), Dowdupont (DWDP)? Regarding Fairfax India Holdings (FFXDF), is this a five year hold, or is it money down the drain? Your recent answer to someone asking about Cognex (CGNX) was that it was out of favour. Can I have more details? Do you think this is the time to be buying gold due to the US's huge debt, and the increasing trade tension between the US and China? Thank you for your input.

Thanks.
Thanks.

Q: Hi Peter et al:
I am looking to invest some money in India. The two etf's that I was able to find are xid and zid. I am looking for mid to large cap value, however BMO states that zid is growth oriented and high risk. I am a subscriber to your etf branch but I couldn't find what I needed there. Also what would you recommend for etf exposure to Europe and the Euro, which I believe will appreciate relative to the cad.
Thanks,
BEN.

Q: I am considering tax loss harvesting in these companies from my non registered acct.
FIH.UN down 18%
CVE down 22%
CGNX down 13 %
SQ down 24%
Are these companies sells? Which companies would you recommend replacing them with so I don't miss any possible rebounds. OR is it time to move the money to different sectors with better opportunities for 2018. OR these stocks are poised for a quicker rebound and should be held onto?
Looking for guidance here and greatly appreciate your help.

Q: Should we be worried about the high volume today ?
Q: I have a question about FIH.UN
For weeks there seems to be a large seller that trips any momentum the shares develop. Is there a short position developing or any indication of an institution selling.
A recent notice of a shelf prospective is the only other explanation in my view. Some indication in the prospectus that the funds could be used to purchase shares of large sellers.
Could be that shareholders are worried about dilution.
Can you determine which of the above might explain the negative momentum.
What would you estimate fair value to be.

Q: I bought this stock about 2 weeks ago and it is now down ~15%. I am trying to be disciplined in selling “losers” around the 10% down level (before -10% becomes -30-40% or worse).
But given what I perceive as your positive conviction of FIH, I am considering averaging down in this situation.
So, the question then is buy/sell or hold ....and “why”.
Thanks for your guidance here.

Q: Am considering a small position in India. FIH.U is tempting me but I realize it is a much different structure than other ETF's. Could you give me your favorite Indian ETF's with FIH.U ranked among them ? And your opinion of FIH.U ?

How can FIH trade on the tsx yet be traded in American Dollars (Never had this happen before; is there more us currency tsx stocks like this that i need to be made aware of?).
Does FAH-U trade in American Currency as well? Also do you know the holdings of FAH-U?

Q: a bit of granurality for the benefit of your readers following your response on Fairfax.
The last time I checked they had I think no more than 5 positions, one of them is an important position in the BANGALORE AIRPORT growing ''exponentially''.
On the bad side :
1 it trades in US dollars and I have no hedge
2 It has I think a pretty hefty MER similar to a hedge fund, I have a call wainting to be answered but nobody answers as I want to know how the MER is calculated.
All and all seems not bad and signifantly better than ZID so far
