Q: I have been thinking of replacing PKI with EIF in my RRIF over the last few months. During this time PKI has been steadily rising ( in a weak/ declining market) while EIF has been following the market down. The EIF decline has been quite substantial from what I see is a strong company with good prospects. Is there something wrong with the company that us retail investors don’t know about. ? Is there a rerating of the company going on ? Several analysts have been more positive on PKI. Should one expect strength in this stock to continue. ? Trying to figure out when ( and if ) I should make the switch. My gut says to wait this out. Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. Derek.
Q: I'm reducing the number of holdings in one of my RIF's. With cash to re deploy, which is better for long term hold and dividend appreciation with minimal downside. Probably an apples to orange comparison but EIF is it's own mini etf with it's various holdings. Leaning toward XEI, what is your take? Both already owned btw
Q: I am considering adding to a number of these Income Generating names. I know you are generally not a fan of averaging down but is there an entry point that you would add to these names in the current market.
Q: Hi 5i
Each of these stocks represent between 2-3 1/2 % of my
portfolio.
Thinking of boosting some up to between 4 1/2 to 5%.
None are at a loss.
Any thoughts of an order to do this?
Thx
Gerry

Q: hello 5i:
would Operating Cash Flow be the best metric to use when valuing this company? If so, I see that historically, they've traded for long stretches of time for a ratio of under 6.0. Would you then agree that something under this ratio would present good value? If Adusted (Operating) Earnings is the best metric, would a PE of 20 or less be a good value to buy into?
thanks

Q: Bought EIF a couple of months ago and it has been declining ever since. I'm now down 13%. Other than the general state of the economy, is there anything in particular driving this downward trend? When would you anticipate the stock might start to regain value? Thank you.
Q: Morning.
Cdn dividend portfolio of 10 stocks
BCE, bns, cibc, eif, enb, ppl, Royal, tc td, and Telus
Which 2 would you get rid of..and why?
What would you replace them with, (dividend above 4%)
Thank you
I'm hoping you might be able to steer me towards several suitable, longer term, investments.
If you were assembling a portfolio of equity investments today, from which you REQUIRED an overall average yield of at least 4%, with a further need for that yield to either keep pace with or to outpace the rate of inflation in coming years; which 5 Canadian and which 5 USA equities would you select to include within your portfolio?
1) Independent of any consideration of a desire for diversity of sector?
2) If diversity were to be considered to be of importance?
Please deduct as many question credits as you feel may be appropriate.

Q: I have owned PKI for 10 years and have done OK but now am building a case to sell. I see PKI as a company whose assets spans an oil refinery to M&M frozen foods with oil distribution and convenience stores in between. Now is facing significant capex to add EV charging stations and facing more competition in this area with the announcement that the major auto companies are to build out charging stations across Canada.
Please shot holes into my thesis. Am looking to replace with EIF, your thoughts on this company would be appreciated. Thanks. Derek
