Q: Hi 5i, What is the difference between these 2 Brookfield companies please? Tx Ron
Q: Hello 5i, Which of the two Brookfield stocks do you recommend for growth over the next year please? Regards, Ron
Q: I own 5% (my max) weightings in BIP.UN and BEP.UN. I've always wanted to invest in BAM.A, but avoided this with a concern of too much overlap. However, now with the upcoming BAM.A spin-off, could one then make more of a case ? i.e. to invest that 5% in the "Asset-light" unit once this split occurs?
If you agree with that, do you have any concerns with a 15% overall weighting within the Brookfield group?

Q: Why does bip.un offer a substantially bigger dividend yield than bam.a?
I own both and plan to add more, part of me says to increase bam.a for broader coverage however I cannot get past bip.un recent performance and better dividend.

- Canadian Utilities Limited Class A Non-Voting Shares (CU)
- Northland Power Inc. (NPI)
- Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP.UN)
Q: Can you please put these in order for me. From best to least best. Thank you
- Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. (BEP.UN)
- Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP.UN)
- Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation Class A Exchangeable Subordinate Voting Shares (BIPC)
- Brookfield Renewable Corporation Class A Exchangeable Subordinate Voting Shares (BEPC)
Q: I own a mixture of these in both my RIF and non registered accounts and wish to consolidate them so as to only own one of each. Capital gains and tax need not to be considered. Which version of these 2 companies would you have in each of my two accounts ? Thanks.
Derek

Q: hello 5i:
regarding the 49% investment by BIP in INTC'S chip plant.
BIP is our largest holding, so we are concerned as to the significance of this deal and the effect on BIPs future. How significant is it?
And, with INTCs well-known failures of overpromising and underdelivering, poor allocation of capital and just bad management decisions, will an alliance with INTC not drag BIP down with it? Could not the company find a "more reliable" partner (ie AMD)?
How does BIP benefit in all of this?
I suppose that another way of asking this, is "should we lighten up". Tough, as we've held since 2015 and been very happy owners.
thanks

Q: I know you like both bip.un and bep.un very much, as do I. But i am starting my granddaughter on her first stock and I'd like your opinion on which is best, for both the short term and the long term?. Please explain why...
Q: May I have your comments on earnings please
- Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP.UN)
- Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation Class A Exchangeable Subordinate Voting Shares (BIPC)
Q: Why is the combo of BIP.UN (down 36.8% YTD) and BIPC (down 6.3% YTD) performed so poorly in 2022 so far? Thanks.
- Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. (BEP.UN)
- ATCO Ltd. Class I Non-voting Shares (ACO.X)
- Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP.UN)
Q: What would account for ATCO's lackluster performance over the last 10 years? Lumpy earnings? The chart looks quite good in the years prior to 2012, and the dividend appears to have been raised fairly regularly.
As a retired dividend stock investor, I am interested in it's diversification. I do have exposure to the Brookfields, but do you think there is enough difference between ATCO and BIP/BEP to warrant an investment in this company?

Q: Hi Peter,
How would you rank the following five Brookfield companies (BIP.UN, BIPC, BAM.A., BEP.UN, and BBU.UN) over a long-term hold with respect to risk-return? Which of the five securities has the highest risk and which one do you perceive has the lowest risk?
Your comments are much appreciated.

- Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP.UN)
- Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation Class A Exchangeable Subordinate Voting Shares (BIPC)
Q: The difference between these two is fairly wide. I am under the impression the gap should have closed over time but it remains fairly high. I have a small number of shares of BIPC and a larger number of BIP.UN. Thinking of selling BIP.UN and buying BIPC with the proceeds, both have some gains. Both in a Cash account. Thoughts?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: What is the rate of return including dividends/distributions of the above 3 over the last 5 years and what would be your top2 picks of those 3 for a 5 year hold
Q: Is it best to buy before a stock split or after?
Thanks
Thanks
- Costco Wholesale Corporation (COST)
- Realty Income Corporation (O)
- Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP.UN)
Q: I have some cash sitting in my RRSP and was thinking of adding to either Brookfield Infrastructure or Realty Income REIT. I had Costco on the list, but noted in answering another question, you recommended waiting. Of the two, which do you feel is the better choice today? Or should I continue to hold the cash a bit longer until the markets settle? Thank you.
Q: Thinking of a position in Brookfield Infrastructure, is the dividend well covered by cash flows ? This will be a long term hold for retirement.
Thanks Steve
