- Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. (BEP.UN)
- Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (AQN)
- Kinaxis Inc. (KXS)
- Savaria Corporation (SIS)
- Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP.UN)
Q: Do the high p/e ratios on these stocks concern you or does their future growth take care of that? Also, are their dividends sustainable over the long term? Morningstar reports a low ROE on BEP and BIP, yet they are ranked as a high quality investment. AQN,BIP-UN and especially BEP-UN also seem to have high debt levels. Are these still good buys? thanks

Q: I currently hold a full position of BPY in a taxable account.
An overweight position of BIP and a half position of BEP in
a non taxable account. The three comprise sixteen percent
of my total portfolio. I have sizable gains in both BPY and BIP.
Too many eggs in Brookfield companies? What would you
suggest as a reasonable percentage and how would you rank
the companies as to quality?
Thank you for considering my question(s)

Q: Good afternoon,
I hold the following stocks in my business account that have a weight of between 6.2% and 8.3%. This account was started in DEC/16 and has increased by 6.7% YTD not including dividends. I want to add six more stocks to further diversify while reducing the percentage per equity down to between 4 and 5%.
My goal is to generate income equal to the amount of corporate tax payable annually. I looks like this can be achievable!
Let me know if I need to share dollar values to help access.

Thanks,
Raymond

Q: Hi team:
I do not want to invest out side Canada more then what I already have.I would like to invest in Canadian companies that have much of their income in other countries mostly Europe and developing markets.Could you provide a longish list of possible good investments with the above in mind. Q: Good Morning,
I (retired and drawing cash from portfolio) have 11.6 % in Utilities as listed. AQN 2.8%, BEP.Un 2.1%, BIP.UN 5.0%, KWH.UN 1.7%. Thinking of reducing BIP.UN to 3%, and adding FTS 2.7% and VNR 2.7% to increase weighting to 15%. Thanks in advance for your comments and the always excellent feedback. Any other suggestions welcome. BTW do I have all of these in the correct sector?

Q: I hold the above in a RIF and have weighted to cover the required withdrawal amount with dividends. Does this sound appropriate and if not, would appreciate your thoughts. Do you see a major loss of principal if markets continue its downward trend. Thanks for all your help.
Q: Is there any news regarding the recent weakness in BIP?

- NFI Group Inc. (NFI)
- Boyd Group Income Fund (BYD.UN)

Q: My industrials currently consist of SIS@4.3%. BIP@ 3.8% and ZCL@3.5%. Each month i have the ability to contribute about 1% of portfolio value. I would like to add to my industrial section. Any suggestions or changes to holdings? Probably happy with three stocks but could add another. Hold about 33 stocks in my balanced portfolio.
Q: Both these companies report in USD. They are listed in NY and Toronto. Is the Toronto price basically a function of the rate of exchange?
Do these companies have a hedging strategy to protect the Canadian shareholders?
I suppose that an investor concerned about foreign exchange losses should examine the hedging strategy of any company holding assets outside Canada.

Q: I read about the recent problems regarding corruption in Brazil, and the huge drop in the brazilian markets today. Since BIP has major projects in brazil, I am left wondering if the latest problems there will impact BIP. If so, will the impact be short term or longer term? Or the problems such that we should lighten up on the stock?
Q: I currently own BEP.UN and BIP.UN. Thinking of adding BAM.A.
Are these companies linked in such a way, that really bad news would bring the other Brookfield stocks down?
Thanx
Saw your response on rating the order of the Brookfield stocks on the 17th. Noticed you put BAM.A ahead of all the Brookfield stocks.
What makes it better than the two I have , in your opinion.

Q: You have indicated a recent buying preference of BIP over BE. I notice that the analysts predict a 10% price reduction for BIP in 2017 but stable for BEP. Does this affect your preference?
Q: I have the above two stocks but would like a bit more European exposure. Do you have a stock recommendation with solidity and growth in mind?
Q: Could you please comment on their results and outlook.
Thanks,
Milan

Q: Over the past two years I have acquired all three of the above companies and they now (together) comprise 10% of my portfolio. Do you see any problems with this? My portfolio is well diversified.
THANKS!

Q: Do all four of these have dividends that are taxed differently and therefore shouldn't be in a non-registered? Does this apply to a TFSA as well, as foreign income I believe is taxed in a TFSA?
Where should I hold each of these? in an RRSP, TFSA or non-registered?

Q: What are the chances of Wsp increasing the dividend -it has been the same for at least the last 5 years. Given that the stock price is up nicely this month I wonder if it isn't time to move on to a higher dividend stock or a stock with dividend growth for my income account. What do you think and what would you suggest as a replacement -I own most of the stocks in your income portfolio.
Thank you.
Thank you.
