Q: Greetings 5i,

VFF is a stock you considered a spec buy earlier this year. It has since came down to $5.00 however is still way up from its 52 week lows. What are your thoughts on this company, is it still a spec buy in your opinion, and at what weighting in a portfolio would you be most comfortable.

Lastly can you suggest a few names, Canadian or otherwise, that have become interesting to you as "pick and shovel" suppliers for the MJ industry.

Cheers!

Q: As a loyal Albertan and patron of their retail outlets, I have held a position in LIQ for six years. I now read (FP) that ACB is initially purchasing 20% of LIQ (103.5MM) through private investment and may purchase an additional 20% of the company later. Apparently LIQ plans to convert some of its existing LIQ outlets and open new locations -- all of which will launch as a new brand of cannabis retail stores. Your comments appreciated. Thanks.

Q: Hi, What is your view on this company ? The new Board has taken some serious steps to restructure company's business and its direction. Per, Monday's NR, company has agreed to sell all its US stores and focus on CDN stores. This transaction will result in lower cash flow from operations but help reduce debt considerably. What do you think of this move and its future impact on company's operations? Stock has current dividend yield of 3.5% and CIBC upgraded its rating and price target. Is the stock buyable at present prices for short to medium term investment ? Thanks

Q: I have held these two stocks for several years, primarily for the dividend. The recent 'coup' which replaced the LIQ board, has nothing for the stock. And STB, as you have noted, is mostly doing nothing. Can you suggest two growth stocks that I might consider as replacements? My timeline is up to 10 years. Thanks

Q: Hi Guys and gals

No that the insults, personal attacks and counter attacks have settled and there is a new board in place, How do you feel about the new management? Personally I like to see a shake up in the boards, not for sake ups sake's, but I think that long time management and directors get a little to complacent, especially ones tat have been in place since the IPO. Having said that, how do you feel about the new board and their history with other companies that they have been involved in, is it an upgrade in your opinion? I like the fact that they may exit the states and and look more to Canada to expand, and refresh some of the stores up here, anyways what do you think?

Thanks

Q: Re Point North
In mid-May, I asked your views of this play for control. Your view was somewhat negative. Based on circulars since then, do you have a stronger view, one way or another?

My intuitive view is strongly negative. I may want to express my view to the institutional investors. Is there any point to do so and, if so, is there a way of getting their attention?

Q: Point North is trying to control the board, a move which cannot be justified by their level of ownership.

I suppose the first question for the shareholders to consider is whether the existing board and management are doing a decent job. Do you have an opinion on this point?

If the incumbents are OK, I think that there would be no reason to give Point North's predatory demand any consideration.
