Q: Hello
You consistently say Pizza Pizza is good for income but little growth expected. But I see John Heinzl is selling it out of his model portfolio in the Globe and Mail. It is now down 30% in my income portfolio and I now wonder at the advisability of just continuing to hold. Just how sustainable do you think the dividend is over time? Would you expect the company to react positively to restore growth? If sold what "safe" dividend stock would you buy with a comparable dividend?
Thank you .... Paul K
Q: I was talking to my financial advisor about getting into a couple of high dividend securities north of 4% with some growth. They mentioned AW.UN, LIF, CGX, EXE. They said most of them have had a run except for the KEG and they said that one might be the better one. Which ones do you like of this group I have mentioned or are there any that you could recommend?
Thank you, Dennis
Q: Hi, I like to raise some cash for new opportunities and have already trimmed some of my winners. However these companies have not done much in close to 2 years.
Wcp down 5000
XTC down 4500
Fsz down 2000
Et. down 1500
Sector not a issue, would you sell one or two of these or take a chunk out of each one?
Thanks
Q: With the release of Fideliy,s ZeroTotal Market Index fund were investors pay 0.00 percent fee and talk of maybe even funds that pay investors a fee, I am wondering what your thoughts are on this development and the implications for a company like Fiera.

Q: I am considering adding (about 2% position) a high-yielding, non-bank financial, and am looking at FSZ or GS. My objectives are more dividend sustainability and stock price stability over growth. Do you know what the payout is for each of these, and do you have a preference for one over the other and why? Would you buy today? If you have a better idea, please comment.
Thank-you
Q: I would like to purchase some dividend paying stocks for a non-registered account. What would be your top five recommendations for dividend paying stocks (minimum 3.5 % payout) that are also likely to have some capital appreciation over the next 3 years. Please do not include pipeline or financial stocks as I all ready have these two areas well covered. Also, are your recommendations good buys at this time.
Q: Currently have BNS,TD,CM,IGM,FSZ and SLF in the Financial Sector comprising 21% of my Income portfolio. I would like to replace CM ( or do you feel fine having 3 bank stocks ) - can you give me some suggestions as possible replacements ?
Q: I have some cash to invest and would like your advice as to whether to add to any of the above companies which I currently hold (at a loss in each) or sell them and put the funds into a new investment which generates some income. Thank you for your great service.

Q: I am transferring funds to a TFSA and an unregistered account.I have picked the above to be put in my TFSA and would like another 10 picks for my unregistered account as well as your opinion on the 10 for TFSA please. Both accounts have 100k to invest with a 10 year time line to retirement.
Q: Greetings! I need to buy some safe dividend growth stocks for income, and a very long term hold. I already own plenty of bank stocks, telecom, ENB, ENF, IPL, MSI, FTS, AQN, CU.
This for a non-registered account, so .UN stocks are not of benefit. I have looked at the Income Model Portfolio. What would you consider to be good buys right now, whether or not the stocks are in the Model Portfolio? I also have a curiosity about EIF. Thank you.
Q: What are the top 5 income stocks that you would recommend buying? Please advise if they are dividend aristocrats and if you expect any price appreciation over the next year/
Q: Hello,
I have been a holder of FSZ for a while now but the share price doesn't appear to get any traction. I thought after their latest quarter, they might get a lift but it looks like it is drifting back again. I like the yield but other than that it's been a disappointment.
I currently own TD and SLF which both have segments comparable to FSZ's business. Are there any compelling reasons to keep holding this company, any catalysts that you are aware of that might get this stock moving? Is this just a yield play with very little price appreciation to be expected?
Q: GS reported earnings yesterday. If I understand the report correctly, the quarterly earnings do not appear to cover the quarterly dividend. Plus, a special dividend is being paid. Can you please discuss/ explain the report and advise whether, in your opinion, the situation is sustainable? Thank you kindly in advance for your reply. Following these results would you continue to prefer FSZ over GS?
