Q: I have these 2 in a TFSA, where the goal is to maximize growth. Do you see either as still having good growth ahead or are there other equities with more potential. If you still like the 2, which would you want your investment to go? FYI, currently about GSY @2.5.% weight and TFII @ 3.5%. Many thanks for your excellent service.

Q: Hi 5i,
I wrote inquiring about the above names mid week last week but didn't get an answer - I'm pretty sure i hit submit but possibly not.
I'm down on each - on some significantly - and was looking forward to a post tax loss selling bounce, but none came. In act, all but WELL were down on January 4 before the interest rate news hit on the afternoon of January 5, and all have continued to drop like stones since. I'm concerned that droppage would be happening even if the Fed hadn't scared people about interest rates, and I have the depressing feeling I own a basket of stone losers.
If I sell out of each now and put the funds into some good dividend payers like ENB, SU, POW, BNS I might (hopefully) recoup my losses or at least cut them considerably by this time next year.
For each of the names could you tell me if you think it's a good idea to punt now before further losses accumulate, or are there any that you think have a reasonable prospect of returning to their early to mid 2021 levels by the end of 2022.
I really will appreciate your thoughts and advice - feeling a little beaten up right now ...
Thanks,
Peter

Q: I have 3 securities (TOI, GSY, WSP) in my TFSA (in approximately the same amounts), and have added $6000 cash to that brokerage account for 2022. Would it seem reasonable to add to each of the 3 positions with the newly added cash, or would you feel I should prefer one or the other security(ies) among the 3?

Q: Hi,
I am wondering about whether or not replacing stocks sold for a tax loss strategy is prudent, or not. All of the above listed stocks are at a loss in a taxable account. I am looking to offset a large profit that occurred in July when a number of stops were hit. The loss on GSY and SBUX is not terribly large, and so if it is deemed these stand a good chance of rebounding in the early part of 2022, then I may decided to keep them. In selling any of the stocks listed, are their replacements I could purchase that would likely add some growth? The alternative being just wait out the 30 day period and repurchase the strongest of the list. Your thoughts and suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks for all the great advice over the years! Dawn

Q: In my TFSA, I’m holding ATZ,CSU,GSY,TOI and LSPD. I’d like to split this year's $6000.00 allotment in January between two of these 5 stocks. At this time considering a 3-5 year hold, what would you suggest and why? Thanks and btw, it’s because of 5i that I’ve been able to achieve an 85 per cent return in my TFSA. The advice and info I glean from the questions, portfolios and reports are invaluable. Keep up the great work on our behalf. Best investment I’ve ever made is joining 5i.

Q: Hi 5i,
I’m in the process of rebalancing my RRSP and TFSA and looking to be greedy while others are fearful.
Specifically moving TD, FTS, T, and LNF to an RRSP so that my TFSA can be growth oriented.
My remaining TFSA positions would be as follows:
- Half Positions: NVEI, EGLX, LSPD, WELL, U, APPS, BAM.A, SIS, DND, BYD, MITK
- Full Positions: GSY, TOI, CRWD, ATZ

I am planning to deploy as follows:
- Complete existing positions: NVEI, LSPD, APPS, U
- New Partial Positions: AT, XYL
- New Full Positions: DOL, SHOP, VEEV, ANRG, ATD, TIXT
Would you swap out anything on this list that would better compliment my existing positions? I have a 10+ year horizon so I’m leaning towards aggressiveness.

Thanks!

Q: I'm in the process of rebuilding my portfolio for 2022. It would be helpful if you could share with me a list of both Canadian and American companies that meet the following criteria:
1. They are some of your favourite companies from a fundamental perspective
2. They are currently buying back their own shares.
3. They offer a decent dividend.
4. They run businesses that offer good growth prospects for next year.
5. They currently offer good value.
6. These companies are so solid they would classify as 'core ' holdings.
At least six companies in each list would be appreciated.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude for the support and ideas you have shared this past year. Definitely one of the best advisory services available to Canadians,
