Q: GSY stated in their Q4 financials that interest rates would need to rise by 2 per cent before any material impact would be felt in the business (due to floor agreements and fixed rates in place on current funding sources). Since then rates have risen .75 % and it looks like they will increase further. What is your guesstimate of how much higher they will rise to? If your guesstimate is above the 2% threshold, then how badly would that effect the business. How would that change your earlier thought that $125 share price would be an excellent buy.

Q: I can't understand why GSY iat a 52 week LOW. Yes high growth stocks and NASDAQ are going down. GSY has a PE close to 10. It is a value stock not a crazy growth stock. It is making money and yet it is being treated like a .COM stock.
Easy answer would be, the market thinks recession is coming and GSY will not perform well.
Do you have any explanation for GSY being at a 52 week low despite beating all estimates on quarterly results?
Thanks

Q: What are the best types of stocks to include in TFSA for long term hold (15-20yrs) with medium risk tolerance? Growth only or growth + income? Have heard that dividend stocks in TFSA can be good as income can compound over time tax free but if the growth outperformes the dividend yield would that not be better? Also could you include your top 10 Canadian picks right now for allocation in TFSA (sector doesn't matter)? Thanks

Q: I'm overweight financials - almost 20% of my total portfolio. In relatively equal proportions I hold: BAM, GSY, SLF, X and V. Should I trim across the board or do these stocks have sufficiently different economic drivers that being 20% overweight is not a concern? Thank you.

Q: Comprised of the above Canadian companies, our TFSA represents a small portion of our overall portfolio and is its most growth oriented component. All investments are made with the intent to be long-term holds (10+ years).

Two of the holdings, AT and LSPD are down over 50%, while FSV, GSY, NVEI and WELL are all down by about a third. We intend to do some rebalancing. How would you rate (1-10) these 6 for additional money today? Please include a brief explanation for the ratings.

Finally, if you could add one more Canadian company to the mix, what would it be?

Q: We'd all love to get a look at a few stock prices from 5 years in the future. Get a big winner, or avoid a big loser, with no risk. If you could get a list of the prices of 10 Canadian stocks 5 years from now, which ones would you pick? Let's say stocks with a min market cap of roughly $1 billion Cdn.

Q: GSY: I've been thinking about buying this stock; however, concerned about the BOC aggressive stated policy to increase interest rates quite quickly. This and the recent report from RBC on housing service index that is high and getting higher - higher % income required to service mortgage debt. Concerned about a recession; especially, if I own this stock which probably would get killed, I would think? Comments please.

Q: On GSY & WELL. I am down 30% on both in a registered account. Looking at the tax loss and moving to AT and CSU. I have started to use this as a growth account. Or I could sell and wait 30 days to rebuy. Looking for growth possibility so being a little more aggressive is OK

Q: I am looking to possibly add to GSY. I am comparing to TD and BNS in the following order: GSY,TD,BNS with PB Ratio: 2.9, 1.9, 1.7; PE Ratio: 8.8, 12.7, 11.6; DIV(%): 2.6, 3.5, 4.3. Would you think the disparity in the PE Ratio may continue with GSY? It looks like a buy for growth but (as usual) I am probably missing something. I currently have both TD and GSY. Thoughts please. Thanks Dan.
