Q: I want make some changes to my portfolio with the goal of getting closer to your Balanced Equity portfolio. I am overweight in CNR.ca, 10% loss on MFC.CA and have gain of 120% for PIF.CA. What would be your suggested 5 equities to replace these? The rest of the portfolio does not have any Consumer or Tech and CNR is only industrial.
Do you think it makes sense to sell all of PIF.CA?
Thank you for your advice!

Q: Last year I received a "Transfer in Kind" to my RRSP for Polaris Infrastructure senior unsecured convertible debenture; Maturity May 2024 with coupon 7%.
I don't really understand the risks of the convertible debenture world.
Would it be more prudent to hold the debenture to maturity and collect the interest quarterly; or convert to the common stock that is paying dividends of 6.7% ?
What are the risk factors I should compare for Polaris?
Is there a process to convert / sell that I should be aware of?
Thank you.

Q: These companies represent 17% of my portfolio, with ENB and NPI positions being 3.5% each and the remaining approx 2 % each. Recently stock prices of several of these have increased 10 % or so.

Should I adjust any of these positions?

Without really knowing the remainder of my account, what percent in utilties would be suitable for a ten year horizon?

Q: PLC and KXS - two stocks that you promote have fallen quite rapidly over the last while. This rally we have had over the last few days - they have not participated in. I am thinking of replacing them with stocks which have more upside potential - PIF is one of them with a 7% dividend. What are your thoughts on that? On another note - I was logging into one of the model portfolios and it asked me for a user ID and password which I have not come across before and I wasn't able to get in -- even though I put a user ID and password in, it didn't seem to allow me to go in. Thank you Dennis

Q: PIF has taken it on the chin in the last coupld of days. The only news I see is the final cancellation of the proposed Nicaraguan canal project. Do you see other news that relates to the company? Is the cancellation of the Nicaraguan canal actually germaine to the situtation for PIF or is this just a case of long-distance investors getting jittery on any local bad news? Thaqnk-you.

Q: Good day...we own aqn and vnr and are looking at pif as a dividend stock to add...our question is first about the company and its forward looking forecast do you think they will grow in the political situation in Nicaragua and secondly is the dividend paid out in Canadian funds and thus eligible for Canadian dividend tax credit without holdback when placed in a cash account....thanks for the great service....gene
