Q: Hi Gentlemen . I am trying to learn to use and better understand the tools available here on your website. Let's say I type in a stock to view. Example: AC. Then, from the drop down box I click on "view AC profile".
When I scroll down to the Analysts recommendations box I notice currently there are 3 lines of different colours. Dark green - strong buy Light Green - moderate buy Yellow -Hold . So are these 5i Analysts? and which line should I pay most attention too? The highest one? I would appreciate some assistance in clarifying the lines shown and the degree of importance they play when I am doing my homework here. Thanks, John

Q: Janet Yellen - Federal Reserve - talking about taxing unrealized capital gains - year after year even if you have not sold. Your opinion on this. Now that everyone including young people I know are getting information through Reddit and buying all these risky plays, i.e. Koss, and Gamestop are making a lot of money for new people in the market. Will there be enough to go around for people who just want to buy safe stocks and hold on to them for a period of time? Most of my stocks in this area have gone a fair amount over the past while, whereas these highly promoted risky and shorted stocks - seemed to be skyrocketing and more money will gravitate to them. Your opinion on that?

Q: In your opinion how will these short squeeze situations affect the markets going forward? Will we never see such a large percentage of the float being shorted again? Surely any company that experiences a 100% float will be the next target of a reddit campaign.

It could also be looked at from the other side. Any company with a high percentage of shares sold short could experience buyers trying to preemptively predict reddit forums from doing it first. Has this situation permanently changed short selling?

Q: Hi 5i,

You have mentioned that the US retail investors are speculating BB's operating system for autos may become the industry.
What exactly is the social media stock boards Redditt and RobinHood do you mentioned? How can they able to push up or down the stock price? Just like a large group of gamblers doing mass trading without any fundamental analysis? Would you please kindly advise and explain in detail? Thanks a lot.

Q: Hi 5i Team - It is my understanding that most of the Canadian start-up technology companies are going with private funding rather than public, resulting in a scarcity of technology companies to invest in on the TSX or Vancouver Exchange. First, could you comment on the accuracy of this assessment. Secondly do you know of any such companies that are available to the general public for investment or may be planning an IPO over the next year. This would not include more established companies such as LSPD, KXS or of course SHOP. Thanks again for all your advice over the years. Your service has been invaluable over these years and continues to be so.

Q: Warren Buffett says when it comes to investing there are two questions to answer: what company and what price? When I watch the financial media the 'experts' always have a ton of stocks to buy, and give their crystal ball reasons why, but never give the intrinsic value of the stock, or talk about the margin of safety. Do the 'experts' just believe all their stock picks will go up? :)

Q: Hi there, regarding the EV space, yes the frenzy continues, however, do you see it with more legs to run in the near term, say three to six months? Will stimulus spending continue to assist the EV space, considering the new US administrations go green policies to come?
Considering your previous experiences, can you see the EV space cooling off in the short term with profit taking, or do you see it still running hard for now, based on what you see in the markets today?
Any favorites today? Any you like that still look as though they have some value left in them?
Thanks!

Q: Hi 5i,

I am new in the Canadian market and want to learn more the behavior of Canadian stocks. I found those Canadian stocks both traded in US and Canada behave very good price momentum. KXS is not listed company in US. However, I have found there is a KXSCF (OTC traded in USD), does it usually trade actively for such cases. I have a feeling that the reason it dropped due to the company is not listed in US market. Do you agree that we should invest for those companies traded in both US and Canada market, they will behave much better with more volume transactions and better price momentum. Many thanks and kindly advise.

Q: Your answer to Peter on Jan. 6 about when to sell stocks was that if something has changed and you list a numerous amount of reasons for these changes - where would a member get this type of information in a timely manner? Stocks of mine have dropped a great deal in a short period of time. Example, AT - I found out they have applied to issue more stocks, if need be. Seems to be a lot of terminology used in these types of cases, i.e. bought deals, secondary issues, etc.. Unfortunately, by the time I find this out the stock is already down considerably. Could 5i perhaps have an area where this type of information could be retrieved on stocks that 5i follows? Thank you again for your good information.
