Q: Being a relatively young investor in my late 20s I think I should be allocating more of my portfolio to high quality growth stocks. (I likely have too much allocated to blue chip dividend cos) I have owned ATD.B, CSU and SJ for some time and was wondering if you could suggest some other similar consistent growth cos to look into?

Q: Hi , can you please provide the estimates for Revenue, EBITDA and EPS for the quarterly release, next week. Thanks
Q: After reading one of your blogs I am wondering if you can provide a list of companies in the past year that have instituted a dividend for the first time or have increased it by a considerable amount like savaria has done. And that will not cut a dividend just instituted. Thanks.
Q: SIS is up sharply today... Any thoughts on what is accounting for this?

Q: Hallo I5, my cash position is over 25% and would like to buy one or more of the above stocks with div. income in mind and some growth. I would appreciate your help in my selection, perhaps suggest better ones. I like the chart of MFR.un but can not find any information MER, holdings, etc. I also own MAW104 and Maw105 in my portfolio and I am up 25% on both, should I take profit? Many thanks for your advise. J.A.P.Burlington

Q: just a comment, great interview with marcel bourassa ceo of savaria just seen on bnn, done from his plant in brampton.
he has a guy working almost full time on m&a, and in the last 2 months he says he has made 2 offers on companies, but he also says it is very important to buy at the right price.he has 45 million in the bank and thinks he can do an m&a up to 200 million.
he and his brothers bought the company 20 years ago for 200,000, now market cap 400 million. dave

Q: Hi Peter & team: Greetings! with reference to Tamara's question regarding who will be next US president, I hold the 3 US stock with total of some 10% gain (that is all I have in US$ and it is about 4% of my portfolio) should I hold or sell? Some money managers still recommend it. SIS I have some 30% gain and it is only less than 2% of my portfolio and you still favour it, should I take some profit? Honestly taking profit is difficult as it increases my total income and I may face a clawback of OAS. Please feel free to take my credit points as I have lots of it! Thank you.
Q: what would be the downside risk of companies like NYX, PBH, SIS

Q: Hello Peter,
Given the issues with some world banks, I have decided to hold off buying XLF. Do you think i am overly concerned here? Second, Sienna Senior Living is either stable or goes down a bit where as Chartwell continues to grind a bit higher. Any idea? Lastly, ATD.B has pulled back a bit. Do you see this as a good opportunity? Alternatively, i was simply thinking of increasing my weights on Savaria Corp given the results and forward guidance and Knight Therapeutics as it seems like it is becoming a health care fund with great management. Please advise fo your thoughts. Thanks again.

Q: Hi,
5 or 6 years ago I watched as autocanada went from $5 to $90ish over a 3 year period. I got out of that way too early, after doubling my investment. I watch Savaria now and feel as this is something similar. Initial investment at $4, I am trying to figure out how long to ride before taking profits. It has grown to a 7% weighting in a balanced portfolio. How far do you think Savaria can run? At what point would you trim back your holdings?
Regards,
Robert

Q: after a large run up from SIS and GUD do you think the stock has become overvalued or do you still believe there is potential for these stocks to rise further? also what are your thoughts on NYX?
Q: Hi Peter and team,
I own a reasonable amount of St. Jude medical which is being purchased by Abbott - approx. half cash and half stock.
My other large cap medical holdings includes.
Pfizer, Merck, Medtronic, J&J
I also own GUD & recently bought some Savaria, small portion of EXE
Each has approx. a 1-2% allocation.
Would appreciate your thoughts about when & / or how to get out of St. Judes and what to replace it with.
I don't want more mainly pharma so probably wouldn't add Merck or Pfizer.
I like stocks with a moat such as SJM, MDT, Stryker, Zimmer Biomet and Savaria.
I don't know enough about Abbott to decide if I should simply take the shares. If Abbott is going to be more of a device / equipment company and looks good here I would take the shares.
I am happy to hold these 5-10 years (probably longer) and am close enough to retirement - 3-5 yrs that income and lower risk become more important.
I would appreciate your input as to strategy here and what to do with the cash / shares.
Could you rank the above names taking these factors into account?
Thank you in advance for the great service and your input. ( Please subtract the number of questions you think is fair.)

Q: I see that the public sector is entering a growth phase, what would be your top 5 public sector dept picks for an aggressive growth portfolio?
I'm thinking that Health would be a 'no brainer' replacement for condordia, oh but wait...the grey tsunami...so would that be a long or short position.
Cheers and happy Friday

Q: Hi 5i Research team, what do you think of the idea of not strictly using the official sector classification when calculating sector allocation? Would you agree that I split the sector allocation of some companies when appropriate (an option not available for the official classificator)? For example, would you agree with: SIS (healthcare 75% + industrial 25%), ZCL (industrial 25% + energy 75%), TNC (financial 50% + technology 50%), AF (industrials 25% + consumer discretionary 75%)? Thank you, Eric
Q: Being a victim of success, for which 5 I is to blame, I have a question about allocation. I'm sure you've been accused of worse things than making people money!
I started a 3% position with Savaria, which has now grown to 4.5%. I started a 2.5% position in Shopify (the US equivalent) which has also grown to just under 4.5%.
The question is, do you suggest trimming these back, or are they strong enough to continue unchecked for a while? I have a portfolio that is just under 500K and don't know if it's a wise bet to place an almost full position in two relatively newer entities in a portfolio of this size. Thanks, as ever, for your help.
