Q: Hi team,

What would be your favourite/top growth stock under $5? (in a prior answer you had indicated STC, is this still the case? I do own a 1/2 position at $2.65 as per your prior suggestion...thanks!!)
Favourite/top growth stock under $10?
And favourite/top growth stock under $20?
Assume I have a well diversified portfolio so looking at small/mid cap growth.
5-10+ year holding period.

Q: I am looking at putting together a portfolio of set-&-forget Canadian dividend-paying stocks, in what will be my only unregistered account, making up about 30% of our overall portfolio. The registered accounts (70% of portfolio) are now all in mixes of VGRO, VBAL and XAW.
My emphasis is on stable large cap companies, with a sprinkling of smaller cap, low beta, decent and growing dividends. I expect to draw down the capital at 6 - 7% per year (in addition to the dividends). Beyond the drawdown, capital preservation is secondary to the income.
What are your thoughts on the following mix? Additions/deletions?
Communication: BCE, T
Consumer Discretionary: CTC.A, LNF
Consumer Staples: NWC, PBH
Financials: BNS, TD, SLF
Industrials: SIS
Materials: SJ
Real Estate: CRT.UN
Energy & Utilities: ENB, AQN, FTS, ACO.X, BEP.UN (or BEPC)
My other thought is 100% CDZ but I'm not very impressed with the historical returns and the (relatively) high MER.
Thanks. Lotar.

Q: On a scale of 1-10, please rate the following stocks for both growth and risk over the next year (1 being low, 10 being high): GSY, SIS, BAM, TRI, SLF, TFII. If only one could be owned, which would you choose today? Thank you.

Q: Have been a long time member and so gratefully appreciate the opportunity to read your Q&A amid these isolated times. One of my joys in the day.
Please rank BAM.A; BEP.UN; SIS;T; SLF;BNS long term, all balanced sectors for a TFSA.

Q: Happy New Year 5i!
I recently joined and have been reading as many of these questions as I can get my hands on and appreciate your insight.
I've recently started a TFSA portfolio with a breakdown as follows:
- REI.UN (14%)
- TD (33%)
- FTS (29%)
- HR.UN (3%)
- T (12%)
- SIS (5%)
- ATZ (5%)

I have been attempting to buy into companies and reinvest via DRIP and thus my preliminary focus on dividend companies (with diversity taking a backseat). What are your thoughts on REITs for growth going forward over the next couple years? Are they worthwhile keeping or do you foresee more upside with investment into growth stocks? If so, do you have a top 2 growth stocks that could compliment the rest of the portfolio in lieu of REITs?

Thanks so much!
Kyle

Q: Hi Peter & 5i team,
I have topped up my TFSA contribution limit and now have a considerable amount of cash to deploy. Currently I have the above mentioned names and am looking for a good dividend growing stock addition. In your opinion, what would be your top three suggestions.
Thank you for your opinions in the past and present.

Q: I am an investor with a fairly balanced, income oriented securities portfolio with a relatively high weighting to financials. I am thinking of adding the securities noted and am interested in your thoughts on each, as well as how you would rank them on a relative basis. Thanks for your thoughts.

Q: In my TFSA I currently hold XBC, SIS, KEY and PKI. My philosophy has been, after an initial investment in XBC, to use the dividends from SIS, KEY and PKI to purchase more XBC. I realize that KEY has the much higher dividend but taking into account safety and capital appreciation would you add to KEY with my 2021 TFSA contribution or SIS or PKI?

Thanks Ken

Q: Doing a year end review of all of my holdings. I would like to reduce my position in several stocks (or eliminate entirely in the case of HR.UN and CPH) in order to raise some cash for increasing my position in several other holdings. Fairly large question, so I will divide it into 2, this for the potential reductions and a further question about the potential adds. Would you please rank these stocks in the order you would reduce or eliminate to raise some cash, starting with the one you would be most inclined to reduce/eliminate. Sector, or large cap/small cap not a concern, as I have a broadly diversified portfolio with a lot (too many, really) of names. Thank you for this, and also for the very good service. My 1st year as a client, and I will certainly be renewing. I have recommended the site to a few friends who also do investing.

Q: Good afternoon, I'm feeling grouchy about my TFSA today. Quite a few of my holdings are underwater. Tech is the only area that has shown me any growth. I am down 46% on XTC, down 80% on HWO, down 36% on GUD, down 6% on BCI, up 5% on DOL, and down 6% on SIS. I know I can't claim losses but is it time to dump some of these and redeploy. I don't need the cash and can be quite patient and I know my tech weightings are getting high but it seems as though that's where most of my winners are. How high would you let your tech weighting go in a TFSA that is a long term savings vehicle. Thoughts?

Q: Hi, I'm currently holding a few of these positions in our TFSA's along with SHOP, LSPD, WELL, etc... I'm trying to determine if these four stocks fit best in a TFSA or other accounts? I try to put the highest growth stocks into our TFSA's. Would you swap any of these names out with some of the other high growth stocks you like and put these into an RSP, LIRA or non registered account? Thanks!

Q: I'm currently in SIS, but not happy that they haven't grown the company this year and am worried the cuts to maintain net income may hamper future growth, unless a major acquisition is made.
I have a long term horizon and rarely sell, but I am considering a switch to REAL. Would this be wise in your view, or should I be more patient and forgiving with SIS?

Other than personal RE and BAM, I currently have no equity exposure to RE at this time.
Thanks,
